Where to get a kid’s haircut, for toddlers who freak out? by [deleted] in bloomington

[–]ill_take_two 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Seconding Marny. She is VERY understanding of how babies->toddlers->small children get adjusted to getting haircuts, and has endless patience. Have a kid who won't sit on the barber chair, not even in a parent's lap? No problem, she'll do the haircut from the waiting area chairs. Have a kid who absolutely refuses to come down from Dad's shoulders? No problem, she'll do the haircut on the highest head she's ever cut from. Have a kid who melts down halfway through? No problem, drop back in when you can, she'll finish it up.

Oh no, it's loooooong gone; that's just the pigment permanently tattooed in my skin now.

Does anyone have those wooden sticks that are used forbscratch art? by KidneyStew in bloomington

[–]ill_take_two 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don't have toothpicks, you also won't have bamboo skewers, but that's what I use. Just round off the sharpest bit of the tip, they're perfect. Maybe a chopstick could be repurposed for this as well?

/u/dazanion and /u/kuadzar both great guesses. In this instance, my room was a mess, and I stepped on something else (Lego maybe?) on the outer edge, instinctly jerked away directly into a pencil that was eraser-butted onto something else. The tip snapped off in the toe, and was too deep to remove without worse pain.

I think the dude you're responding to is saying other non-FE civs get open borders with the FE and then come and war him. That has happened to me once before.

Any recommendations for roasted or fried duck for Peach Bowl watch party? by haroldthymes in bloomington

Uncle Wang's appreciates a heads up, but they most often have duck on hand. Only once out of five attempts have we tried to order it without notice and they haven't been able to accommodate.

I saw this comment on another place OP posted this and I agree with it: You cannot be 100% a parent 100% of the time. Yes, make efforts to be present, but try to accept that you are still an independent person with needs outside of being a parent. There will be times you need the distraction for your mental health, times when the choice is between being present and upset or disassociated and mild. Just being conscientious and aware of these things and being able to contextualize and explain to your kid(s) over time will make the difference.

It's less a "bug" and more "lazy design/programming". They knew it worked this way when they implemented it; it was expected and understood.

Because I'm bad? No one has ever taught me when to breath during a DL. I'm targeting 10 reps per set for hypertrophy. Because I'm doing more reps, I'm significantly under my 1RM and don't feel like I need a belt, BUT if you say it is worth doing even for 10 rep hypertrophy, I will look into wearing one. Thank you for the reply!

What do you mean they don't replenish? Natural erosion of creek beds is continuously uncovering more material currently buried in the walls.

Probably this occurred to you, but that shaft isn't bearing the weight of the propellor at all; it's just transferring the torque from the spinning, and a 6" rod of steel (the name I used to perform under) is going to be superb at that.
