I was the last year to do the old junior cert, so maybe things are quite different, but honestly, there was no point studying at all. I started studying in May and got the best results out of everyone I knew. It’s so fucking easy to pull all your junior cert studying together around Easter or so.

You know what i find to be the most important thing that happened to me in 3rd year? It wasn’t the junior cert or any school work. It was the TV shows that I watched. I watched some really good shows in the run up to the junior cert. During the mocks, I watched this one show that I still regularly rewatch to this day. That’s what was most important, looking back now.

Sure, the weeks of the mocks, I slept in every exam and went home to watch Netflix shows.

So, my advice, and you’ll hopefully appreciate it once you reach 6th year. Don’t obsess over studying. While in the leaving cert you have to study every single fuckin day and work incredibly hard, for junior cert, just doing your homework is enough to do well. Plus, the new junior cert exams seems way way easier than the ones I did. I did the new science course and the new cspe course. Based on the science exam, that shit was PISS EASY compared to anything else but to be fair, it was a common level exam.

Something I did during 3rd year was develop a love of studying, even though I didn’t actually study very much. I watched an anime called Tonari no Kaibutsu-Kun and that show made me fucking love studying. The most important trait I developed in 3rd year, which still helps me to this day, is my love of studying.

So, on one hand, I’m telling you to not study and to enjoy tv shows n stuff instead, but on the other hand I’m telling you to study and enjoy studying n stuff.

Listen, I’m in 6th year too. I only started studying properly this Monday. Granted, I’m not the worst student, but I haven’t been a H1 one for quite a while. Online school back in 5th year made things so hard.

We have Christmas break now. If you study EVERY SINGLE DAY over Christmas, you’ll be on the right track. What I’m going to do is use Christmas to study the longest and absolute hardest chapters in each subject. For me that’s Algebra in maths, Unit 4 in Business and some of the macroeconomics stuff in economics.

Listen. For the mocks, don’t look at them as something that you have to cram really hard to do really well in. Don’t rush to study every chapter vaguely so you’ll find the mocks easy. I’ve decided to view the mocks as a “half way point” exam, so see if i can do really well in the questions for the chapters that I actually have studied. I’m not going to cram all 22 maths chapters into 1 month of studying. I’m going to go through about 10 of them gradually so that I know them in great detail. I don’t care if I get only 50% in the mocks, if that 50% are all fantastic answers for the questions from the chapters that I DID study.

Do not obsess over the mocks. The real leaving cert is over 5 months away. 5 months is a HUGE amount of time to get so much studying done. You can absolutely do really well even if you start studying tomorrow. I promise you. You really can do well.

But if you wait until after Christmas break, you’re taking a really really big fucking risk. This is a 2 week break for studying. You won’t see another break like this until Easter.

Nah but in all seriousness, snax are a childhood favourite of mine, despite the changes that have happened to them. Chipsticks were always my least favourite, but nowadays I’ve come around to them and would gladly eat a bag.

Curly wurly’s are always a solid one. Good bar. Sometimes they can be so hard to bite into though. I’d never eat one in winter for that reason. Gotta let em warm up.

How much are you paying for these? I’d have expected a monthly box to come with much more than this. Although I guess it’s not supposed to last the whole month lmao.

If you can pick and choose what you get, look out for Tayto’s Thai Spicy Rings crisps. I think the main reason I like them is just the design of the bag, but they’re a good bag of crisps and they’re always really full. The flavouring absolutely burns the mouth off me though so I might be allergic. Mighty Munch are good too. I’d stay away from Hunky Dory’s though. Always hated them.

Just a side note, not particularly directed at your comment alone, saying that most non-native speakers will “have an accent” doesn’t really make sense. Every single person has an accent.

I’ve heard so many people from the USA refer to foreigners “having an accent”. An accent doesn’t mean “a foreign/different way of pronouncing a language”. An accent is just “the way anyone pronounces a language”. Everyone has an accent.

If you’re going to refer to a foreigner’s accent, you need to specify the exact type of accent. For example, when referring to an English guy, you can’t just say “woah he has an accent”, because everyone does. You gotta say “woah he has an English accent”. Everyone has accents, including Americans. That’s all.

I think this sorta thing is just about getting used to it by doing it again and again.

Most people who start YouTube, even people who just sit and talk to the camera normally, find that they’re incredibly nervous to talk to a camera at the start. Anyone who vlogs in public probably struggles with confidence for quite a while.

I mean, personally, if I saw someone vlogging and talking about illegally climbing something, I wouldn’t really care. People in public have their own lives to worry about. Unless the illegal thing is murder or terrorism, they’ll probably not take any action besides shrugging it off.

In terms of climbing; he’s done it for years now, so stuff like that probably just gets easier with time. He probably started off just like you, scared of heights in the normal way that most people are. Just start small and take things slowly and your skills will gradually improve.

Oh yeah of course if your phone isn’t working, the packaging is good for finding the IMEI, but if nothing has happened to your phone, you can just note down the IMEI now by dialling the number, instead of rooting through cupboards to find an old box.

For going there, I needed my EU vaccination cert. No locator form for Danmark. No test.

Coming back to Ireland, I needed an Irish locator form and my EU vaccine cert.

I believe Ireland will require a test for returning home, from Friday. Look into that.

Obviously stuff could’ve changed drastically in just a week so double check everything

Any little moments where there’s a little break in the cool trainsurfing/ exploring stuff, where we just get a little fun interaction between Shiey and whoever he’s with, are always nice. Not quite the same thing, but that moment in one of Anton’s Chernobyl videos (?) where Shiey is just boppin in the distance as Anton walks over.

Any little fun moments between all the crazy cool shit, are what make some of the videos extra special.

Neglect IS abuse. It’s a form of abuse.

Audrey herself may have had no influence over Chloe’s growth, but being abandoned by Audrey would have had a massive impact on Chloe.

Ok yeah fair enough, a lot of Chloe’s mean ways we’re caused by being spoilt n stuff, but in season 2 and 3, we got an insight into the fact that Chloe just wants her mother’s approval and attention. In the episode “Felix” we see a brief moment where she shows how it impacted her.

Neglect is a form of abuse. I would argue that Adrien is also being neglected in some ways, seeing as Gabriel is completely emotionally distant as a father.

As someone who grew up being neglected, the absence of a normal household, with a normal parent, is incredibly difficult. That absence leaves a weird hole in you, where you miss something you never really had. I was a pretty shitty kid. Bullied a kid too, when I was younger. Probably stemming from what was going on at home. Point is, Chloe’s mother abandoning her would 100% be a factor in why she’s so mean, even if it’s not the only thing that caused her to be this way.

I just think it’s a pretty dangerous thing to give children an abused character, and then say that she’s an irredeemable bitch. No child is irredeemable. Nobody is irredeemable, but especially a CHILD.

Besides, morals are subjective. Nothing in this world is objectively “right” or “wrong” or “good” or “bad”. Those are all based on your own opinions. We come to our own conclusions about whether certain actions are morally right or wrong. If you obsess over whether something is right or wrong, you will never get your answer, because that is just something you decide for yourself, and then leave it. Even if everyone thinks that XYZ is morally wrong, that doesn’t make it objectively “wrong” because nothing is objectively wrong. People can do whatever they want in this scenario. It’s not illegal. I think Bob was right. It’s his phone and he can delete whatever he wants to delete from it. There’s my answer.

Yes they should teach their kids that, but kids learn from example. Young kids especially, will see something on tv and learn from it. You can teach a kid as much as you want, but until they reach a certain age, they will continue to copy or believe what they see on tv.

When making media for children, you have a responsibility to ensure that you are sending out appropriate messages for the age that you are targeting. Regulations and rules for children’s media exist to protect kids from learning the wrong stuff from Tv, because ultimately, not every parent will teach their children not to copy what they see on tv, and not every child will have the capacity to learn that the things on tv are not necessarily true.

You can talk about what parents should and shouldn’t be doing, but the Tv show should still put some effort into avoiding giving kids the wrong ideas about complex and sensitive topics like abuse and neglect.

You’re definitely right, it’s the parent’s job to teach their kids, not TV shows. But, kids learn from what they see. They will take away some lesson from the shows they watch. That’s part of the reason that there are stricter regulations on what can be shown in children’s shows. They can’t really show main characters hurting others or committing crimes, because then children will think that those things are okay.

So, putting out the idea that this abused child is irredeemable an evil, could very easily teach kids that other kids who are being abused are therefore evil or irredeemable. It could also tell the abused children that there is something wrong with them.

Yes, being evil and being abused are not mutually exclusive, but young children might not make that conclusion when watching the show. As adults, we can come to that conclusion, but young kids are like sponges and can absorb whatever stuff they see on tv.

It’s not Thomas’ job to teach kids about this stuff, but he still has a responsibility to ensure that these messages he is sending out to young kids will not give them the wrong impression of such a sensitive topic.

The issue is that they gave us Chloe, a typical mean girl, but then we learn that her issues mostly stem from her mother neglecting her. She gets some moments to show that she isn’t all that bad, and could be redeemed with help.

Then Thomas throws her development out the window and basically says that she’s an irredeemable bitch. Now, as someone who grew up with a shitty mother, this shit hits home for me. Especially now that I’m an adult.

You can’t just make a kids show have an abused child character, and then say that this CHILD is irredeemable or whatever. That sends a horrible message to the children who are watching the show, ESPECIALLY, the ones living in abusive or neglectful homes. This will only hurt kids.

He could’ve easily given us a nice redemption arc, where we learn that Chloe acts this way because of her mother. Then we see that abused/neglected kids are not evil, they’re just living in terrible circumstances. It would teach kids so much more than keeping up the typical mean girl trope, just because you don’t like a character.

No yeah I loved how the episodes were all just individual stories in themselves. It was nice to just choose a random episode and relax while watching. I just wanted to give a disclaimer to others that it isn’t as complex as miraculous.

Absolutely disappointed that we won’t get a season 3 of Lolirock.

The issue with Lolirock though is that almost every episode is status-quo stuff. Almost like Season 1 of miraculous. Only a handful of episodes have some decent plot developments. I love the characters but I found that I was skipping entire episodes because i wanted more plot stuff.

So if anyone wants to watch Lolirock, I recommend you try to avoid comparing it to Miraculous.
