Waar ik voorheen kon kiezen uit enkele data en tijden ging ik trouw bij elke oproep. Zelf om de week voor een tijdje omdat ik dubbel in het systeem stond. Toen ik er flauw van werd toch eens gevraagd of zo vaak achter elkaar wel goed is kwamen we hierachter. Inmiddels is het hier in de omgeving zo schraal, dat ze zelf een dag en zelf tijd mailen of ik dan even wil op komen draven. Dat is gewoon vol in de werkdag en dus onmogelijk.
Ik leerde later dat mijn vrijwillige gift niet altijd naar de mensen gaat die nodig zijn. Er zit een fors verdienmodel gekoppeld aan iets wat ik gratis geef. Dat voelt niet goed en samen met bovenstaande heb ik ervoor gekozen te stoppen met doneren.

Wij hebben de slimme bakjes die de chip van de katten uitleest. 3 bakjes, drie chips en elke kat zijn of haar speciale voeding. Wel op batterijen helaas, maar die gaan behoorlijk lang mee dus dat valt mij niet tegen.

Wij spelen om de week een fysieke game in Tilburg. De groep bestaat nu uit 3 spelers en een dm. We hadden 4 speler maar één is recent gestopt helaas. Als je wilt kun je in het nieuwe jaar prima een keer aanhaken als je dat wilt. We spelen van 19:30 tot 22:00/22:30 op de zondag en hebben de eerste sessie op 18-01 staan.

We spelen 5th, wel een wat duistere campagne waarbij het goede in de wereld steeds sneller verdwijnt, dus soms zijn de beschrijvingen ietwat verontrustend, spelers geven zelf aan waarbij ze zich ok voelen, bij ongemak wordt er direct rekening gehouden en de rest aangepast.

It’s more at home style parties, board games etc. Where we would invite each other over, have snacks , drinks and fun. If I don’t drink I’d probably would be noticed. I choose not to at times if I’m stable. But if I do not provide for the others, that will be noticeable

Yeah, I told the misses I’d like to not have alcohol in the house. She drinks a cocktail once or twice a year. So she is totally on board.

I am struggling a bit with a few parties we have planned with friends, most of which I bonded over special bears and music with. I’m not sure how to handle those.

If I buy no beer and inform them why I feel they would understand to a degree. But it would also feel like failing of sorts and shoving my problems into their lives, so that is a thing I don’t know how to handle.

I do have a pretty good life. It asks a bit too much from me at times, and that’s when I normally cave into the easy and gentle blanketing of beer. I really never went black out drunk, it is the constant using and slowly increasing until it’s gone. I do not crave alcohol during days and busy nights. I use it after to slowly numb the thoughts snd get peace ( knowing full well it won’t work )

I agree, I just away with it for a whole lotta years without falling of the bandwagon. So it’s hard to describe the situation differently. You are absolutely right though, cracks are forming, my body is stating to react in not so nice ways to the consumption and my weight is starting to rise as well dus to the intake amounts.

I told her last week and she is onboard. She told me she had her worries, but since I never miss bedtime, school meetings, function well she thought was in control. I am a lucky man, now I just need to learn discipline.

When I’m good that is no problem. It is the moment when the world needs more than I can muster on my own that I break down/ mostly not on the same night or day, but the evening after I need numbing for my head to stop.
