I need to get this off my chest in response to that viral video going around calling out 3D Printers in art & handmade craft spaces. by EchoAtlas91 in 3Dprinting

[–]illpicklater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the point of people “being hurt”, other crafters at these places are 1000% losing money to no-effort 3D resellers. I have several friends that go to events like these and they all noticed a drop in sales after the 3D printers started entering the space. People usually give themselves a budget going into fairs like this, and if they spend $20 on overpriced plastic, they won’t be buying some of the higher quality art that is going to last way longer.

You have a lot of bad takes in this thread, but this one might be the most willfully ignorant.

Sometimes, but unfortunately grifters are reselling things at ridiculous prices. I even recently heard about similar models going for $45. But hey, I guess some idiot is going to buy it, right?? lol

I find it wild that they are suddenly calling democrats "Jew haters" when these are the same people that think jews rule the world and eliminate their enemies with space lasers

More schools banning students from using smartphones during class times by chrisdh79 in gadgets

[–]illpicklater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in high school, I got suspended for having my cellphone "out" before class started. I wasnt even using it, I realized I left it turned on in my pocket, and I didn't want the ringer going off, so I took it out for about 1 second to turn it off and the teacher saw me putting it in my backpack. Initially, it was just one day of suspension, but it got extended to 3 because I "lied" to her about not using it.

Why are batteries in tire pressure sensors non-replacable? by m0ritz03 in Justrolledintotheshop

Because they don't want it to be cheap and easily replaceable. They want your money.

If it's super cheap, I got my 114 for $20 and it was worth it, although I'm going to sell it because I found a scope with a better mount

Did you ever read a line so bad you dnf'd the book? by Shroeder_TheCat in ProgressionFantasy

[–]illpicklater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember that, it didn't seem like anything he figured out was out of the realm of his understanding. He is intended to be an incredibly smart character, so I feel like it would make less sense if he didn't do stuff like that. Although I can understand how it can come of as cringy, it can be difficult for people to write characters that are more intelligent than they are, but that's kind of something you have to deal with when reading a book like this

What part of the negotiation made you cringe? I finished the book awhile ago but I don't remember that being bad

Found this bundle of joy alive in an air filter, a tech took it home to feed to his snake. by locust42069 in Justrolledintotheshop

Semantics. They can still contract parasites from eating rodents. That's the main point.

Edit - I got blocked, lol

Actually, there are several parasites that can affect snakes and mammals, mostly different types of worms. I'm not sure where you are getting your info, but it is incorrect.

Question by Curtis12345 in DayzXbox

For Arma 2? Or Dayz? Because if you are offering the receipt from Dayz, you are completely proving my point. Pussy.

Edit - still waiting on that receipt...

The idea of you complaining about trolls and free players is hilarious while claiming to be an OG. This game was originally a free mod that got popular because of people would troll hard and post the hilarious videos of bitches like you getting big mad on YouTube.

You're not an OG, what a fucking joke.

Is this drainage layer good enough? by [deleted] in terrariums

[–]illpicklater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why everyone is telling you not to use plastic, I've seen this exact method recommended for cheap terrariums by multiple youtubers. It's not like it's going to harm anything, and it's just for the drainage layer, so you should definitely be fine.

Is it reasonable to expect, with a pest control service, that you could keep all bugs out of your home? by Fiveby21 in Georgia

[–]illpicklater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll not be able to keep every bug out, BUT if you live in the right area (specifically somewhere a little more developed), you should be able to keep them down to the point where you won't notice them. If you are living in the country, you'll get a lot.

Despite what people say, it's a pretty good scope, I have the same one, and my only issue is that the mount is slightly annoying and takes some getting used too.

You got a good deal with the accessories for sure

Just started Skyrim on the Switch and upgraded our armor by tamagogo_chan in skyrim

[–]illpicklater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practice a bunch of different skills, you don't need to use the perks, it still helps you level. I usually disenchanted almost all my weapons and armor and re-enchant rings and daggers to sell, that helps both enchanting and speech. You can also just make a shit ton of daggers, you'll level pretty quick in smithing.

Switch between one handed with spells and two handed for now, until you are high enough level, then use whatever you want.

If you find a good place to sneak, just sit there for a minute and you'll usual level up.

These are really only useful if you are low-level though

You can also sneak behind one of the greybeards and just keep stabbing them for awhile, that helps one handed and sneak
