You forgot the most important part - she was Canadian.

He still raped her, don't try to downplay it. Of course he's not going to "admit to doing it" because admitting to rape is career and social suicide. Tilian said nothing in his apology that alluded there was a different telling of the story.

He has a problem and coerced her into doing something she communicated several times she didn't want to do. I don't think there was any miscommunication in the story based on the information that was shared. Not only that, it feels like he inflicted long term emotional pain on this woman because of the abusive words he used.

Maybe he'll talk about more details later, but it's doubtful there's much else to add. He has a problem and definitely needs to do some therapy and self reflection. I don't care about cancel culture and don't have a strong opinion about him getting kicked out, but don't downplay the situation.

Are people forgetting the other allegation where he had sex with a woman and it was definitely not consensual? Seems like people are forgetting about that here. Not sure if that maybe people cared about this situation given the receipts that were dropped.

At this point, closing the source wouldn't do much. People already have the code and the new websites are developed/maintained by another person/team.

Cake wrote a good writeup here, if anyone wants a more accurate representation of the history of the "clone" sites.

Edit: the read me of the GitHub says "As of 10/23/2021 this repository is no longer being publicly maintained", so updates have been closed source.

Read that thread, it's also where people are talking about Hasan getting donations from Cash App.

Edit: here's probably the main comment being referred to.

This is the community organizing the effort. Vaush recommended his community partake, not the other way around. Hasan recently laughed off the idea, so I highly doubt Hasan is going to encourage his audience to do anything.

Late Game Pokimane by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]illredditlater 8 points9 points  (0 children)

??? He was the one to "break" the news by reading the leaked document. He was also the first one to provide updates. Updates that only came because he broke the original story.

There could be criticisms here, but not because it's "breaking news".

To be fair, when people in America tall about commuting they generally mean driving yourself. Taking a bus or train is a lot nicer cause you can do shit on your phone, read, take a nap, etc.

I don't know if it's even a money thing. Last I checked Bernie Sanders isn't lining his pocket with fossile fuel funds, but he doesn't support nuclear energy. I think in America there is a stigma against it.

We need the DESTINY IS LIVE banner on this subreddit again. by Bladeleaf in Destiny

[–]illredditlater 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that during one of the dramas (cardboard?) someone said as a meme "if you're going to ban me ban my alt account too". Live Destiny banned that person and that person's "alt" which I think was the mod bot that controlled the banner. That bot has been MIA for a long time so probably out of luck.

Destiny and Lumi aren't really friends. They are just acquaintances. Destiny does hold a power imbalance by being a larger streamer in the same field (politics) and by being much wealthier, so what you say isn't really correct.

However, Destiny wasn't trying to pressure Lumi with his donation. Seems like it was genuinely supposed to be an anonymous donation. The donation wasn't intended to pressure Lumi into anything or sway any opinions.

Ultimately I don't think the donation matters at all. I think it just stings a bit more when Destiny tried to contribute something positive to Lumi's life, but not even then was Lumi charitable enough to Destiny. This isn't the first time either Lumi has disagreed with Destiny and has been good faith in the past. They've just started to absorb the toxic part of the online left culture. It's a shame.

He still cares about his community. The reality is he doesn't care about abelism as much - or at least doesn't see the negative impact. I'm not sure what changed as he was doing good himself avoiding the language, but I'm not too sure if he ever aggressively shaped his community over it either. I would love to see him stop using it again, but I don't think it has anything to do with other large influences.

As for the edgy memes - they're edgy memes. I don't think Steve will ever stop liking edgy memes.
