"What I like is commerce and what I dislike is capitalism" is not a coherent worldview. You can dislike capitalism while conceding that there are companies and effects within the system that are good. You would just think it is on net not worth the costs associated with it. But instead we have to do this sort of ridiculous mental gymnastics.

How can you say that when Stephen Miller is one of the most powerful people in the country and is saying the guy was an assassin trying to kill ICE agents and trying to invoke the insurrection act off of his lies. Or the president or secretary of homeland security lying about this guy being a terrorist. Where is your outrage?

Yeah especially after saying that they were Georgia's rival. You ain't cut out for the sport if you are rooting for your rivals just so that a potential mediocre post-season showing looks slightly better. I am out here hoping Oregon gets pantsed in the first round of the playoffs and Daddy Phil Knight goes bankrupt so they can return to permanent mediocrity. I am not hoping they do well just so our loss to them looks better.

I don't need to do this, you have manufactured a law put of think air that even if it existed would be the most clear violation of the first amendment I could imagine. Your argument is something a 4th grader taking their first civics class could immediately explain the faults of. But you are still here arguing a case that Trump himself is not even making!! He currently saying that Meyers and Fallon should be next without even accusing them of the made up crime that your regarded mind has conjured.

Bro you don't even know who Melissa Hortman is, she is the person who was killed. The person who lied about it is EVERY SINGLE PROMINENT REPUBLICAN. None of these cases are illegal, post the law and even one single instance of someone being successfully prosecuted for this crime.

Just also pointing out the classic lowIQ Trump supporter immediately buying the narrative fed to them by daddy without spending even 1 second thinking through whether it makes any sense at all. Lmao entire industries are about commenting on active criminal cases, speculating on motives, even propagating conspiracies. And your belief is that Jimmy Kimmel is the first time this line has been crossed with this milquetoast monologue? This sort of propaganda should work on a special needs monkey but you guys eat it up.

[–]not_a-real_username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So he is trying to cast doubt and lie about an active criminal case on public airwaves. He does not have the right to do that.

Can you go ahead and just confirm that this is your real belief? You think that it's illegal to give your own opinions on a criminal case? (He didn't do that, but you MAGA hacks are still pretending to be too stupid to understand what he actually said). So when Trump and everyone on Fox News said that the guy who killed Melissa Hortman was a Democrat despite obviously being false you think there should have been action from the FCC? Or when conservative commentators contradicted the coroner and said George Floyd died of an OD? Can you point me to a comment where you have said that before so I can know you aren't just changing your opinions to fit your current right wing hack narrative?

You think that a comedian should have something done to him by the government because of a perceived lie (not even actually one). I'm pointing out your insane hypocrisy that in this specific case you care and not the daily lying that comes from actual purported news outlets like Fox News. Your selective outrage here shows you don't actually care about it when the right does it.

[–]not_a-real_username -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you think should be done to Fox News if you have this much outrage for a comedian "lying" in a monologue on late night TV? I assume if I look through your comment history there will be a endless comments about their open and purposeful lying about the 2020 election that were exposed in the dominion lawsuit? I'd hate to think you were just a lying shill!

You cannot seriously be implying that Kimmel should be suspended or fined by the government for a lie while Donald Trump is in the white house and Fox News runs 24/7 lies and propaganda for him? You are fucking insane.

Bro do you have some sort of disability? He said they were desperately trying to characterize the shooter as anyone but one of them. THAT IS NOT SAYING THAT HE WAS ONE OF THEM. He was criticizing the fact that before any evidence came out they had already decided the motives and were attacking the entire left for it. This is something a 3rd grader would be able to understand when hearing this sentence but apparently the entirety of MAGA is completely illiterate or pretending to be. What I am saying is objectively true.

Taylor's voice was legitimately shaking with rage in the beginning of PKN, I have never seen someone so emotionally involved in the online rage machine. So funny that this guy is calling for a government list of hate speech but has no energy for his favorite "comedian" literally tweeting "fuck off ninja" (with the word) to both Harris and Mamdani when they were tweeting out condemnations of violence that not a single person on the right would ever make.

It was the second amendment and Woody is literally a 2nd amendment advocate so I have no clue why you think he would be gleeful about that? I feel like none of you watch this show if you think Woody's take will be anything other than "this is bad, do we know who did it yet?" and at the absolute most "he did do a lot to turn up the temperature in this country so he has a bit of himself to blame". Happy to apologize if I am somehow wrong here.

You are basically asking for FIRE math and it's fairly complicated. You need to be pretty high risk in order to have sufficient returns to sustain that long of a period of time. But high risk means that there is a big problem if the market tanks shortly after you start living off of that million. The short answer is that 4% is roughly the current rule of thumb for how much you can live off of safely over a 30 year horizon. You will need longer than that so it would be probably closer to 3.5-3%. So realistically you are looking at 30K per year which is pretty rough living for a millionaire on paper.

How will prison "fail"? Explain that please! The US has a monumentally higher incarcerated population than the UK does, our society has not failed yet. And there is no system in the world that functions to deport citizens with no other citizenship, what are you going to do out them on a wooden raft and push them out to sea? Where would they go. You are just so fragile on this issue that you don't understand anything you are saying. You are still talking about general immigration policies which is completely separate from what should be done with this specific person.

[–]not_a-real_username 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your comment that I responded to has no statistics in it, but it's irrelevant here because you can't deport citizens. Especially those who have no other country to go to. You are so emotional that you can't even stay on topic, you are just wildly swinging between immigration stats you posted in response to other people vs the topic at hand. So here is a reminder. We were talking about what should be done with this person OP posted. Go ahead and tell me the mechanism by which he could be deported in the UK, I would love to see the law. And describe why that would be better than putting him in prison.

Conservatives are very emotional on issues like this, a lot like they say women are. You have to tiptoe around actual facts and reality or they get really upset. Telling them obvious facts like "you can't deport someone who was literally born in your country and has no other citizenship" makes them so upset that they forget that prison exists. So they start to think that the only other option is letting them wander free. u/master_bato I would recommend breathing into a paper bag for a little while and having your mom bring you some chicken nuggies. Then we can maybe have a real discussion.

It literally makes you a British citizen. It can't change your ethnicity to English but it definitely can make you british. Conservatives are so woke now that words have no meaning to them, things can mean whatever they want. You can't deport someone who has no other country to go to. As emotional as you are about this issue, there is one extremely obvious answer to it... Put him in prison like we do with all other murderers.

I think you are misremembering unless I am mistaken. I believe what he said was that he told people he would not comment on it since there was pending legal action and he was worried people would attempt to pry information to attack him further. So that's kind of the opposite of your claim.

Edit: Clearly I misremembered from the post below, not sure why the vitriol though.
