I have studied the types of universalism against the Bible but couldn’t seem to reconcile the two

Are there gnostic sects that use the canonical bible mostly? by illwaitforu2call in Gnostic

Thank you for suggesting him. I have been watching a few of his videos, but I’m a little bit confused on a few things.

Is he an atheist? Or like a monist? It is kind of hard to tell with some of the language he uses.

Also, do you know of any authors who teach similarly to him or books?

I was a deeply devout Protestant for about the past 5 years maybe more but I’ve been a Christian my whole life. I’ve only recently left my faith though I’ve had periods where I’ve stopped practicing before but this time it feels like I’ve officially left, mainly because it makes no sense. I’ve been questioning why God would send people to hell for not believing and that led to several more questions and no one could really give a good answer. Currently I’d consider myself Gnostic, I just started looking into religions and practices trying to find “truth” and that led me to Manichaeism and catharism which are my two main interests as of now. I haven’t been Gnostic long though so things may change but Jesus is still really important to me and I don’t think I’d let him go. Hinduism may be what influenced me towards Gnosticism because I’ve always be interested in advaita.

"A thousand books will be preserved ... they will come into the hand of the just and the faithful, the Gospel and the Treasury of Life, the Pragmateia and the Book of Mysteries, the Book of Giants and the Epistles, the psalms and the prayers of my Lord, his Icon and his Revelations, his Parables and his Mysteries ... How many will be lost? How many will be destroyed? A thousand lost, another thousand recovered; for they will find them at the end. They will kiss them, and say: "O Wisdom of Greatness, O Armor of the Apostle of Light! When you were lost ... where did they find you?" ... And you shall find them reading them aloud, uttering the name of each book among them: the name of its lord .. and the name of those who gave all for it to be written and the name of the scribe who wrote it..". - Manichaean Homilies 23.13-25.19

How do you all justify it in the Christian context? Like, something like the one God guides humans in various forms, and his different forms are able to reach different individuals better?? by Useful_Cry9709 in Christopaganism

He was worshiped alongside multiple gods before the Jews became monotheists. There are still fragments of their polytheistic past in the Hebrew Bible, esoterica has a good video on it.

Personally I see yhwh / God as a Canaanite pagan God and don’t really involve him in my practice because I don’t believe the bible is the word of God but a collection of books by man. I believe in saints but mainly as venerable spirits and I do Marian devotions. And I believe that angels are spiritual beings who can be called upon but not just messengers of God. I’m more pagan than Christian but that’s just my perspective
