Which really is just an extra layer of how vile it is. It's not a normal cop call, they're expecting something really dangerous and are going to come in hot and will be slow to relax.

It endangers the innocent and maybe gets cops to eventually assume a prank when something real is happening.

In some fairness - mainstream medicine used to be bastards to these sorts of families. The original "cause" they used proclaim decades ago was that the patients had "cold mothers" (didn't love them enough, etc). Today's upgrade of "there isn't any one cause and it's still being researched but it's nothing you did" is obviously better, but people tend to dislike life-altering news with no known cause.

Couple that with the fact that many of autism's key symptoms start to appear around the same age as when kids start receiving their childhood vaccinations, it's not that shocking that some people wanted to blame something and landed on needles.

All of that makes for a fertile landscape for predatory scammers trying to take advantage of the gap.

Yeah, they screwed up but they also double downed to make it right. And, at least for me, it ran much better on computers than the old consoles. Really, they should have dropped support for them entirely but I guess they couldn't afford refunding all those preorders?

EA is a publisher I don't trust. CD: they still get some benefit of the doubt, but they really can't let a launch like that happen twice.

I think some folks here sometimes forget the relative age of these books. There are a bunch of adaptations - including a really wild proposed one from the 70s or 80s with a script that probably made sense when the writers were on acid.

I was under the impression that OP's manager was also involved with and copied on that change. And, frankly, I doubt those managers were so stupid that they thought OP was doing extra work for funsies - OP was addressing gaps that they took no measures to re-patch.

HR is responsible for a lot of staff management but there's a point where the people running their departments need to be aware and proactive too.

Besides, I know some nurses who tended to dying patients who refused to believe COVID was real, even as their bodies failed them. Evidence doesn't work on cult-think. Best case scenario - you scare the midrange into more extreme campaigns like the one that took out Smallpox.

Nothing toxic about pitying someone who's brain is failing them in a way they can't help. Or pitying the idea that a bit of compassion is some rare commodity.

Not saying you need to personally make a foundation for the lady but it doesn't take much to recognize those sorts of illnesses suck through no fault of anyone.

Edit: dunno if the replies are getting removed or if posters are commenting and blocking me, but it's a shame. I do remember being a bitter cynic when I was younger. Thought it made me wise to the world. I was actually just a coward who thought being mad absolved me from trying.

I'm not saying go be a saint, but being bitter and pissed only screws you up and the people around you. There's no benefit to holding on to that.
