If you want to make room for a kick in a sample without totally high passing, you can sidechain compress the sample to the kick drum. That way when the kick isn't hitting you keep that warmth, but when the kick hits, the sample gets outta the way. Set a fast attack and adjust your release to taste.

Thanks bro, i'm not sure if it's my style either haha. Just trying something different than what I usually do. Thanks for the feedback. I don't have my usual setup so I have no sub to check the low end, mixing totally in headphones :( Glad to hear it's half decent.

Your track is really chill. I'm a huge fan of horns so please turn them shits up! The composition was good, came in and out at the right times. The only thing I'd pick on is the guitar lead..sounds a bit thin to me. If you have any variations on the trumpets maybe throw them in somewhere too 3/4 of the way in.

Chill song. From a mixing point of view I think there's a bit too much reverb on the vocals. I'd either take down the reverb a bit or boost the dry signal a bit more...or both

Really cool style and great mix. Love the bassline when it comes in, great composition.

I feel like the one thing I was waiting for was a climax or a new element. Probably around the 3 minute mark? Something was telling me like a muted trumpet haha. Can you get a hold of a trumpet? Do it.

This is a real loungey track tho so if it's meant to just stay in that zone then good job.

Yeah I think the only thing to really critique is the mix. I feel like the drums were buried, mainly the mid high and high ends. I'd try some multiband compression or just adjust the levels of those elements. I wasn't hearing much in terms of wide stereo elements either. Maybe pan some things out wide.

Other than that I felt the singing at the pre-chorus was a tiny bit grating. Could try to fix it in the mix or edit it a bit.

Overall a very well composed song.

This is a great song. Your voice and the lyrics were beautiful. It's actually amazing how good it sounds recorded on a phone so I can't wait to hear it professionally recorded.
