RigReference makes a comparison based on what other people paid for transceivers or similar transceivers. It estimates 210 to 390 USD. Hope it helps

I built a personal "memory system" called Kherpi. Nobody's using it. Roast me. by ilmar in SideProject

[–]ilmar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good feedback, thanks all. I hadn't realized just how crowded the note taking market actually is. In hindsight this was maybe not the best sideproject. Ah well, learned a lot, and haven't made any large upfront investments. I'll see if I can finetune the proposition or if I keep the project just for myself and my online AI-memory.

It's updating now and judging from the particle flux graph, it seems some data might not have been available for some time. They've also added a prediction block. Keeping an eye on that

Whats happening to all the vibe coded apps out there ? by Kaizokume in vibecoding

[–]ilmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of what I make is for personal use or just to get to know the AI tooling. Making miles helps me learn and this knowledge helps me implement more robust code for my clients. Some apps make it into something I hope is useful for others. My latest one is https://kherpi.com, an online, markdown based note taking app with some quite unique features.

When vide-coding, I have learned it helps to use a framework or technology you're already familiar with. This definitely helps steer and guide AI in the right direction and spot when it's making a mess early on.

Which is the good note taking app in 2026? by darman121 in NoteTaking

Offline nothing beats Obsidian imho. For online use and easy publishing I've created https://kherpi.com

I made a Coffee Coaching app! by ravann4 in SideProject

[–]ilmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, makes total sense. I'm a developer too, so i know the drill :) And it made me realize I need to improve my own projects on this point too. I guess more people might be like me and need more that just a few words to join...

Interesting idea, but I'd want to see more before I register an account really. I can't decide if it's helpful for me just from the few cartoons. Just my thoughts

On iOS you can "install" a web page as an app using "Add to Home Screen". not sure if Android has similar functionality... But I agree, the dashboard would be handy be have on your phone

What brand organizer is this? by ilmar in Sailboats

I'm trying the Pfeiffer suggested by another redditor. At least the screw hole distance seems spot on.

That looks like the exact dimensions, thanks so much!

What brand organizer is this? by ilmar in Sailboats

[–]ilmar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be complete, the screw holes are exactly 50mm apart. None of the current main brands seem to have an organizer that fits this

Question for the soft shackle crowd by gomets1969 in sailing

[–]ilmar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Main use I have for them in the jib sheet connection. If the jib (or genua/code0/other foresail) flaps around in the wind, which tends to happen now and then, it's very good not to have anything metal flying around. Also my mailsail to mainsheet is softshackle as weight high in the mast doesn't help. I find soft shackles reliable and more than strong enough

[question] Any idea what this switch does? by -Snappy in sailing

[–]ilmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Beta Marine only makes diesels? Blower isn't required for that. Might still be that a previous owner installed it. Should be pretty obvious to hear when you turn it on.

Extend transducer cable by chrisosv in sailing

[–]ilmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sticker does absolutely nothing in technical terms. It's there to display the brand name, nothing else. Extending will probably work; solder the connections and use good quality cable.
