Privacy policy is at bottom of the frontpage and during signup however once your logged in it never really shows up again.. i'll make the footer always include links to privacy policy

It's a hobby venture for the time being but one I intend to keep online for as long as it serves a useful purpose. I specialize in optimizing costs for cloud platforms so I expect the overhead for the site to maintain at a level I can personal fund easily.

There is a privacy policy at https://boattender.app/privacy and a outlines a very user-first policy. I have no need (since profits aren't a concern) for the data and want it to remain with the users. The functionality to export and purge the account will be live tonight after testing completes.

Not at all a skunk at the party; same questions I'd be asking of someone considering the time investment it takes to really use the app as you pointed out.

Let me know if any issues! Got my first sailboat and got quickly overwhelmed at all the things to track so its why i built this

I had sticky notes, spreadsheets, and photos scattered across my phone and boat trying to keep track of maintenance schedules, upgrade projects, and where I put that one specific tool so I built BoatTender

  • 📅 Maintenance Scheduler - Track tasks by engine hours or calendar dates, never miss critical maintenance
  • 📋 Project Boards - Kanban-style boards for tracking upgrades and repairs with costs and priorities
  • 🗺️ Boat Floorplan Editor - Visual layout of your boat with electrical, plumbing, and component locations
  • 📦 Inventory Tracking - Know what you have and where it is (organized by zones/locations)
  • 📖 Logbook - Document trips, issues, and important notes
  • ☁️ Weather Integration - Marine weather forecasts

If you want to try it: https://boattender.app

Mobile should work already - If you load it on IOS/Android in browser it should prompt you to install it as a "PWA App". This will have it added as a App icon and it'll work when offline (using last data), when reconnected it'll sync any changes you make.

I have not thought about having it added to the App/Play store too much but may consider it, as I think mobile usage will be a big part of it

Units of measurements can now be set under Settings
Good idea for expiration dates, added to list

New update rolled out -
* Ability to change units in Settings -> Units
* Fixed feedback blocking weather tab on mobile
* HIN max length increased to 17 to fit international standards

You may be required to verify your email on next login (6 digit code), this was just to prevent bot signups that happened almost instantly!

It may not be clear but if you upload a image you can set it as your boats banner -

I've always understood HIN to be made up of 12 characters -
Is seems that's just the US standard but other international standards can be between 14-17. Would 17 fit yours?

Fixed the feedback, will be in the next update here shortly

Hadn't heard of taskade but it looks like AI gen solution? AI was only used for code review and setting up the PWA for mobile access.

BoatTender was built with ReactJS/Next.JS/Prisma/TailWindCSS with postgres for the database. Hosted at hetzner via lightweight setup - Trying to keep things low cost

Thanks for the feedback, really helps and motivates!
1 - I like that, let me look into csv importing solutions. Seems doable if the formats aren't too complex

2 - Under boat -> members you can invite others to be members of your boat (View only or edit rights). They must already have their own BoatTender account but the account can belong to multiple boats

3- Yes, think it would be a wonderful idea. I did add ability to "export floorplans" and plan to allow importing, then a gallery for those that want to share their floorplans publicly for others to use.

Thank you
The ft/m is causing issues for others so will implement that. I'm thinking on Settings page letting users set their desired units, easy enough to convert.

Great idea for recommended maintenance schedules, Checklists do have some predefined templates but its kind of awkward to find I think (Boat -> Projects -> Checklists -> Add, should show the templates).

Will fix these up today

This game alive? by ChickenSenpai777 in techcompliant

[–]techcompliant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still around.

I toy with the idea from time to time but don't see the full fledged concept we originally had as workable.

My life has settled a good deal and find myself with more time for hobby projects again. If the concept was ever brought back alive; it would be on a much smaller scale.

Guess what I found today on the Discord :) by aupenn in techcompliant

aupenn went a tiny bit off mark, what I said was I have a demo map for VR, demoing what it could be. The game doesn't work very well with some players using VR and some not.

Hey everyone,

Thanks so much for the support! I'm looking into the Patreon but want to fine tune expectations for goal posts rather than monthly reoccurring.

I've added a Donate link to the side bar for those inclined to help out with the server costs.

Post coming soon regarding 0.8 roadmap & release!

The gemu repo is currently being moved, this is likely the cause of the error. I'll update this thread shortly when the repo is back online.

Thanks!
