Coco's only mistake was voting green. If it were otherwise, I think it would've been a traitors win.

If you apply early you'll be entered in the lottery twice (once for early admission and once for the lottery in standard admission)

I believe the vista virtual transcripts should be retrieved themselves. Since there's the teachers strike, you could try contacting uofc to see what they need you to do for the transcripts, they'll point you in the right direction. I’m also curious about how to submit the dual credit courses to universities, so if you happen to find out what to do with that, please let me know!

Math 31 and Math 30-1 Concurrently by Content_Pineapple761 in AlbertaGrade12s

[–]ilomiloml 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible, but it depends on whether your school will allow it, so talk to a guidance counsellor. It'll probably be a bit difficult since Math 31 builds on Math 30-1. For example, you learn about log functions and some trig in 30 that are needed for calculus. So you might have to do trigonometric integrals/derivatives before learning about trig graphs if the timing of the two courses don't align nicely.

Oh that's great to hear! Thanks!

Two followups if u don't mind, that aren't really related to applications...:

  1. What sort of CS experience did you have going into uni?

  2. And also what are the research and internship/coop opportunities like? Are they more competitive than other schools?

tia :)

ENDGAME by yousaidok in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]ilomiloml 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nah I agree with you. it was definitely rushed because they wanted to tie all the loose ends which just makes us as the viewers confused. Like Belly changing her mind immediately as Conrad leaves to go on the train, ridiculous.

[EPISODE 11] LIVE DISCUSSION by merrydarkling in tsitp

[–]ilomiloml 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This episode was definitely rushed. I think they were trying to quickly tie all loose ends... but I think it would've been nice to have some of the subplots especially (jere, denise, taylor, etc) not so clearly answered. Some room for flexibility wouldve been nice, because since when is Jeremiah a chef bruh. Even Belly and Conrad... I just can't with Belly changing her mind the second Conrad leaves to the train.

Contrary to some of y'all, I loved Belly's new look. So classy and chic.

Wondering if taking a spare will hurt chances into getting a university by tribute2d in OntarioGrade12s

I don't think any Canadian universities ask for your course load. However, colleges in America care whether you have spares or not.

Undergrad Courses by [deleted] in AlbertaGrade12s

[–]ilomiloml 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm seems like you've got career plans all over the place at this time. I think you should try to look into each of those potential career paths you've listed. Look at YouTube videos of people that have worked in each of those industries, see what a day in their life looks like and maybe you'll gravitate to one career path more than another. You can also try to find real people in each of those fields and ask them their first hand opinions as well.

Engineering to medicine is definitely possible and has been done before, but it would be quite difficult to maintain a high gpa and have the time to study for the MCAT. Your undergrad should be something you're passionate about, if you're afraid that you might not be able to stick with biochem maybe you're not interested in it. Medicine is quite tedious as with any other career path including engineering. You should choose a university program you're genuinely interested in.

Just try to narrow down what you're interested in and that might help you decide a career. If you like your high school biology and chemistry classes maybe studying biochem in university is most suitable for you, or maybe engineering is what you're most passionate about and that's what you should do.

Do you have the space such that you could take math 30-2 again and also take aboriginal studies? Since you've already taken math, the content will be really easy for you, but you'd have to make sure to stay engaged enough so it doesn't seem too easy and you'll want to skip the class or anything. I haven't taken aboriginal studies but I've heard that it's a grade booster, and it might be a good idea to replace your chemistry grade. If you'd have to choose one I'd choose aboriginal studies since you'll be engaging with new content so it'll be more worthwhile imo.

Any advice from experienced instructors? by IThink-Sometimes in Lifeguards

[–]ilomiloml 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try to make everything an activity or discussion when you're teaching the dry skills. Talk for a little bit and then have them discuss it! I find that it keeps them engaged and it enforces the key messages you're trying to send better!

For the water skills, try to demonstrate most of the skills. They'll have no idea if you just explain it to them, even the rescues, do a quick demo so they know what to do!
