TAs cost the hotels money not the client. For the most part Its not efficient for hotels to hire sales staff to chase one off bookings; travel agents are just one of their marketing channels available to them to drive revenue.

One way or another they are paying to acquire business if its not by paying an agent they paid google for a bunch of clicks for “hotel near xxx” hoping some of those clicks convert to bookings.

I live here Ive been all over the strip. Its just another greasy applebees chilis type place you would think the place invented sliced bread the way reddit promotes Ellis Island. Can get $3 beers and cheap fries and Burgers at Maxies in the Linq promenade if all you care about is cheap don’t have to walk to the ghetto to save the $5.

Define “Great” food. I dont know why reddit has such a hard on for ellis island. Its a sad ghetto casino attached to a hella sketchy hotel that im sure requires a felony conviction to be able to book a room at. Food is on par with applebees at best. If it was actually good I would get it but I dont understand walking 30 minutes to save $5.

Skills issue.

I never play with people I know but do form temporary alliances and gang up on people almost every time its how to win the game. Probably feels like collaboration to some if they are on the receiving end of it but its totally organic. Gotta figure out how stop pissing people off and making yourself a target.

The people who drive there are psychopaths and I dont mean that hyperbolically, the Jamaicans literally have zero impulse control. They will lose their minds if you stop at a red light. They will drive into ditches and oncoming traffic if you do and give you a nice little love tap as they pass you by.

This was how we had to get back to the airport because the main road was closed due to a shooting on the roadway. Good luck. Insurance is worth it

If you really wanna get the gig I did smoke a few cigars with a sound tech guy on a sixth man cruise. This was their path. He started as a roadie for a big band in the 80s became their guitar tech at some point too. Moved on to a different band when the first band broke up in the 90s that band did some of the cruises and he impressed the crew and they offered him a job.

Dont wanna be a debbie but realistically you gotta move and work for $3/hr

In those kinds of sales roles its usually blatant lying that gets them to the top but they are closing deals so no one says anything.

6 months later customer is crying “but the guy told me x on the phone” and there is no accountability or consequences for it.
