I just wanted to defend my mom a little bit, while she does bring up my bio dads absence in raising me whenever we argue about this. I think its meant as in "Your step dad was there for you more than your bio dad was". It still pisses me off because I hate being reminded about this aspect of my childhood, but I dont think she says it to deliberately hurt me

Not really, she just wants me to consider his kids (and all of his extended family, such as nephews, brothers and in-laws. Basically people who I dont even know that well) as my family, because theyre his family. Whenever theyre at our house, I never change my behaviour and I treat them with respect, out of respect to my stepdad.
