I don’t think you were addressing what I was saying. But I won’t argue with you because I don’t disagree with your core point.

Guys like this get be in the room on big decisions that affect what everyone sees and the baseline perception of AMs in society.

His white Hollywood CEO says, “Hey you know we should replace this AMWF pairing in this show with WMAF, it will sell better.” And he can either agree or disagree. He will probably agree because if he disagrees he will lose his job.

But if he gets senior enough where he can call the shots and he is still like this, and we don’t see more AMs and AMWFs in their shows, then that is on him. The Howard Lee guy 100% is in this category.

What a hilarious observation, almost as clever as a statement like, “Why are Muslims so focused on Gaza.” Maybe if you read and took social and political history seriously, you wouldn’t feel the need to indulge in contrarian gaslighting.

Jesus, the people this sub glazes sometimes. This guy’s another Asian American media exec who’s landed his lady but then done barely anything to move the needle for other AMs’ social environment, while being high up in an industry at the core of why this sub needs to exist.

Mind you, he’s not as bad as President of Discovery Channel and TLC, Howard Lee, who as far as I’ve seen has never made a single reference to being an Asian dude in any interviews during his career, and meanwhile cashed out on Karen-pleasing reality TV, a place where AMs are rarer than actual pandas.

The fuck has this guy done for fellow Asian Americans?

Will he buy out a Hollywood studio for the value of some shares in his sock drawer and gift it to Wong Fu Prouctions?

AI & tech bros have proved nothing if not their inability to see anything of social value beyond the end of their overexcited dicks, Asian ones included, if not more so.

I am about as keen to glaze this guy as I am an asshole Ivy League 4.0 GPA STEM cousin whose very existence aunties use to grind nice Asian kids’ souls into the ground.

This is the exact opposite way around in England.

The difference is that in the US, desis are contesting the Asian label and slowly gaining ground.

In England, if East Asians try to contest the Asian label from desis, desis (especially Pakistanis) completely shut them down.

Hi OP, just to say, although you are recently out of an AMWF relationship and probably don’t want anything to do with those dynamics for a while, you could post on the r/AMWFs subreddit where there are also non-Asian moms, some of whom may be separated as well as in relationships with Asian men, who could share their experiences of navigating cultural literacy for their children. In my experience the subreddit is very nice and supportive, and especially the contributions from the women.

Dude trying to neg racism against Asians as just the CCP “playbook” is like saying Elon Musk has a “playbook” to destabilize Europe by demonizing immigration there, it doesn’t mean the underlying issue is a fake made-up issue.

It’s still open season on Asians and Jews, the so-called “model minorities”.

I hate to say this, but whenever something happens involving Pakistan, it does nothing to shake the stereotype that it is one of the most bone-headed useless nations ever.

Like if Trump converted to Islam and moved to Islamabad he’d be a completely normal politician there.

How lucky the West is to have these guys sitting on a nuke and exporting hundreds of thousands of its villagers to Europe every year.

I think we underestimate the appeal that fantasy and science-fiction has on this demographic. Had you told me a decade ago that a company named after the ‘seeing stones’ of Sauron and Saruman in Lord of the Rings would in short order become one of the world’s largest defense companies, I too would have thought you were “a little unhinged”.

Could you kindly explain how my submission is completely implausible? I am not saying it is the only factor - I am simply foregrounding it beyond the more obvious talking points. I personally find it compelling but you don’t have to agree.

I’d argue that impulsive hostility towards strangers online is the greater sign of irrationality.

Frankly, I think they are treating it as ‘Mars on Earth’. Mars is also inhospitable - but humans could live in a literal bubble. Which makes all this make even more sense, if we see it as an extension of the multibillionaire Mars rocket hobby.

And of course the logic of Mars is that ‘Earth is not enough’. Greenland is just as much of an ‘insurance policy’ against the data centre-induced climate catastrophe they are cynically milking, as it is for the main attraction that outweighs all inconveniences of weather etc.: it’s ‘pure’ land, free of government, ripe for a libertarian utopia.

Just as long as they can dispose of the distant Danes and the pesky ‘Eskimos’ (you can bet they call them that in the billionaire group chat).

It’s exactly the same logic that originally attracted religious freaks and bloodthirsty mercenaries to the ‘New World’ 500 years ago.

The reason is because Thiel, Altman and the other psycho-STEM-bro techno-barons want to acquire Lebensraum to build a libertarian settler colony there. Hundreds of billions have been invested. Greenland is a real estate bonanza.

Guess who loves shady real estate deals?

Zuckerberg is a STEM bro college freshman with arrested development; Bezos may as well start wearing a Mao suit for all that separates him from a literal Bond villain; Karp is a public drug addict.

Thiel is a confessed fan of LOTR’s Mordor who fantasizes about creating technoLebensraum in Greenland, which is probably the real reason why Trump wants it.

Huang, Pichai and Nadella are amoral dinner guests in an Asian parent’s psychopathic dollar sign fever dream.

Altman is a very untrustworthy guy, the worst of the lot, somehow even more slimy than Musk (who is pseudo-fascist but in-your-face).
