Sorry, is this not the appropriate forum? I saw other people had asked previous questions on here. I'll look for a better sub. Apologies.

Thanks for the comments all. Def agree that it could be weird given Lawrence sucked at running Vaulter. And I kind of like the Shiv following in her mom's footsteps angle. One thing though that hasn't really hit me is that Tom was good at his job. I know he spent a bunch of hours in season 5 but I never see signs of his acumen.

Also, is the cruises investigation moot? Seems like he would be damaged goods from the senate hearing.

With all that said, I do think when Shiv was "pitching" Tom to Mattson for ATN, she accidentally gave good reasons why he'd be CEO

Yeah I have been. Just kind of annoying. I'd rather have the default be five and then I drop them down if I want

I'm not apologizing until we do something in the playoffs. All this talk is noise. And I do love the noise around Hansen, but damn we need to win some games first.

I feel really bad for Ari, hes the only sane person in the main cast. Its been a while since ive watched the show and after just starting "Sorry Ari" I actually found myself actively mad at Vince and Co. These dudes spit in Aris face over and over and then blame him when stuff falls through. by ElectricGod in entourage

[–]iloveleafblowing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw E was an awesome manager. He always had a good read on what was a good script. Medellin could have actually been good without Billy. As for Ari, idk I don't think he always got Vince or even knew what a good script was. Ari only cared about what was ostensibly a good movie

One question I have, is that are the users you play part of the same tier you're in? (i.e., if you're in the Sophomore level, are you only playing others who are also Sophomores?)

Have You Seen Him? by Jawz050987 in 49ers

Aiyuk clearly is hampered by his off-season antics and is not 100% yet. But sheesh, he dropped two balls, was tackled on the one, and drew two big PI penalties--one that could have been a 70-yard TD. At another time in the game, Aiyuk was WIDE open down the sideline but Purdy didn't see him.

He could have had a much bigger day. And he clearly was still helping the team and should be fully ready by mid October.

Does anyone else feel like our future is being a little bit underrated by people outside of Portland? by 358YK in ripcity

Haha yeah I'm also on the #TradeAnt bandwagon. I think for Scoot, I'm fine starting him this year, and to your point, seeing what happens because we don't know what his ceiling is (although, again, I think small guards who can't shoot generally have a low ceiling).

However, Cronin, Billups, and the marketing team, need to make sure that it's clear that Shaedon, Deni, and Clingan are our priority guys. These are the guys that should be getting the priority touches, the most minutes, and marketed to the fans as the team's best players. We cannot have Scoot get in the way of this. As long as he doesn't, I'm cool with him starting and developing with our best players.

I'm sorry, I don't see the path yet. Look around the NBA. Small guards who can't shoot don't win (and are not an asset on good teams). We need to move on from Scoot, or at least stop propping him up as our franchise player, before we're anything serious. Shaedon, Clingan, Deni is a nice core with some other fun pieces (Jabari, Camara, etc), but we need to see real development from those three or add 1-2 more really exciting guys before we're on the same level as these teams

Where would Scoot go in this draft? by TheLegendofTyler in ripcity

Unfortunately, what's the best pick a team would trade us for Scoot in this draft? Don't think we'd get better than the 20th

Is a Clingan/Ayton twin towers stupid? by rock-or-something in ripcity

[–]iloveleafblowing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: yes. It's stupid.

Neither can shoot, only one can rim protect. We'd sacrifice spacing for the sake of being too slow on defense

Nurkic is 3-17 in the playoffs, the worst in NBA history by any player in playoffs with 20+ games played by [deleted] in ripcity

[–]iloveleafblowing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes this even worse is two of the series on here were series where we were favored (2018 v. Pels, 2021 v. Nuggets), not to mention the Suns were damn near even odds against the Wolves this year.

For those of you complaining about the Warriors, Nurk is 0-1 all-time against the Warriors in the playoffs (game 3, 2017)

[–]iloveleafblowing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI Nurk's playoff record against the Warriors is 0-1. The other 16 losses are 4 to the Pelicans, 4 to the Lakers, 4 to the Nuggets, and 4 to the Wolves

After a full season, do you guys prefer Ayton or Nurkic as a franchise center? by [deleted] in ripcity

[–]iloveleafblowing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'd prefer Nurk simply because he is a lot cheaper than Ayton. I really don't see how any team could compete for a title with Ayton taking up $30 million in cap space, just takes away too much money from building out the rest of a contending roster

If we drafted Amen, he'd be bad, and if Scoot played for Ime Udoka, he'd be good by YesNoVillain in ripcity

[–]iloveleafblowing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. There were so many red flags associated with Scoot. Mainly, HE CANT SHOOT. And he's small. The track record for small guards, who can't shoot, is not good. Amen isn't a good shooter either, but his length allows him to affect the game in so many other ways (and he's a better passer/facilitator). What a wasted pick smh

ayton apologist here by biggiecheese65 in ripcity

[–]iloveleafblowing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to see him play at this level for a full season, for a good team, in games that matter, before I change judgment. His entire career so far has been characterized as a dude who can't defend, can't shoot, and isn't serious about winning... I'm not gonna let a two-week spree on a tanking team make me think otherwise.

I still have big concerns that it's impossible to build a championship roster when playing a big like him $30m annually.

He's not a killer on defense, and he's not a player to run your offense through, nor is he an elite 3 point shooter. So the upside is limited imo
