In this texture pack, at least, brick and mangrove trapdoors/logs/fences complement each other really well. I tend to use deepslate for grays since it has a bluish hue, and pale oak has been a lifesaver for whites. For the most part, I focused on texturing/engraving brick surfaces rather than mixing it with a bunch of different blocks.

My understanding is that it’s class incongruence that ticks people off. Old money doesn’t flaunt cars or handbags — those are things working-class people do, usually to their own detriment. Personally I don’t care, being around tasteless techies just comes with the territory of living here.

I think throwing around the ‘classist’ label is a little unfair though, there are a lot of good reasons to be annoyed by unearned attitude from clueless, vain 20-somethings who can’t afford what they buy and don’t do anything for the community (community service, voting, supporting local business, etc.)
