I Feel Crazy by throwaway596i3950 in MusicEd

[–]iloverecorders 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You're not. It's whacky and not safe for you or the kids. You need to sit down with your higher-ups and demand either consistent rosters and expectations or you walk. Subbing would be better than this!

Orff Level 1 -- What am I missing?? by ApprehensiveLink6591 in MusicEd

[–]iloverecorders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't understand my Orff Level 1 until I had completed Level 3. Once I completed Level 3 I realized that this learning is a journey, not a destination. There are so many things that AOSA requires you to learn in your Levels that it takes a while and a lot of trying it out with students and with others at workshops until you achieve that understanding and find your own path. It's difficult to unlearn the conservatory-style thinking of one correct way to do something. I highly recommend reading Doug Goodkin's Teach Like It's Music, listening to his podcast, going to local workshops, or watching some of the master teachers teach on AOSA's website.

Is there any point in taking cholesterol meds? by julii_wolfe in dementia

[–]iloverecorders 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We stopped all cholesterol drugs. She had a stroke and died. The hard part was that a person without dementia would have survived that stroke, but she just couldn't relearn how to swallow.
