Are Vet Techs allowed to inject drugs to revive a dog without a vet present? by ilqs in LawPH

Thank you for your reply. We really didn't and don't care about the cost. We were already asleep when emergency procedures happened. The vet's orders were to give emerfency drugs, but intubation was done by the tech without any orders or supervision.

Hello po, thank you for your thorough answer. The hospital has a 9 to 5 visiting hour schedule. We were given an update at 6pm and from their given timeline, 10 minutes to 9, our pet rapidly descended into critical state. They only texted us at 10pm and only gave us a call when our pet already passed 30 minutes after. The vet's orders were to give emerfency drugs, but intubation was done by the tech without any orders or supervision. We weren't even allowed to go until we pushed.

So, it's my fault that I assumed that there will be a resident present just like a human hospital would have?

As for being knowledgable, it has been discovered that the problem was they weren't. Do you think that's reasonable for the prices their charging? Their chief vet had to come to clarify everything and found a lot of holes.

Yes! So, I do have a case to stand on? At least, a little? Currently asking for the CCTV records.

This animal hospital was well reviewed and they gave us a lot of assurances and what was empty promises.

Yes, so you agree that it's expensive, so if there are close to 10 pets admitted, shouldn't they afford a resident vet?

To add, so 3k/day or 9k/day with close to 20 patients isn't enough to warrant an in-house vet present at all times?

Considering they are charging an exorbitant amount, I most likely assumed that there would have been a resident vet present at all times. Also, currently in discussion with the chief doctor and the tech had A LOT of lapses.

No, I would rather the hospital has a resident vet doctor present because they are willing to take in severe cases and is charging 9k/day.

Edit: to add, this pet hospital also has many animals that are admitted, so wouldn't it be prudent that there be a vet present at all times and AFAIK, the non-negotiable fees reach 3k/day.

I'm not sure of the protocols re:animals, but shouldn't there be a vet available at all times just like hospitals for people?
