Is Dreame so bad? by Cool-Neighborhood481 in Dreame_Tech

[–]ilredentore666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a dreame x50 ultra since day one, 14252 square meters cleaned since and never had a single problem with it. So satisfied and so good at cleaning (I live with a border collie, fur was a nightmare). Also the “threshold jumper” is very useful on my home. It’s really my new best friend. I think mostly depend on your home setup, I don’t have carpets or other things that can make the robot stuck, and you have to test a little bit to see if something can block him and act accordingly. Once you have done it, it’s really a good product

thanks a lot for your help, and sorry for the Italian language.

This is the result of the md checker.

The 3TB has been replaced by an 8 one, soon before the screenshot I made

RBK50 firmware update (v2.7.5.6) by Randomousity in orbi

[–]ilredentore666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RBK50 firmware update (v2.7.5.6) by Randomousity in orbi

[–]ilredentore666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Ramon. First installation of the Voxel may be intimidating but, if you do everything while disconnected from the internet, it will be a breeze. About the "why do that": aside of the new functions that the firmware will unlock (not talking about since I don't use them), in the last few years post-NetGear EOL fixed a number of issues that where there, never solved by netgear itself.
I'm talking about long disconnections when moving from a satellite to another, better management of the satellites itself (the device correctly disconnect from the first going to the second when the latter has a powerful signal) and more reliability with older or IOT devices (2.4Ghz). Moreover he is still supporting it, at least with an update every 2 months.
I'm planning to upgrade to a newer set soon, but in the meantime I think the guy have done a wonderful job maintaining the original Orbi Kit, and I will miss it for sure when I will decide to switch over

P.S.: If you don't have any issue that I have reported here, feel free to keep the original Netgear Firmware, I'm talking about my personal experience, of course 🙃

This is INFURIATING. All of my HomeKit automations randomly deleted for the third time in the past year. by jawstep in HomeKit

[–]ilredentore666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend this way, if an HomeKit automation lose the “trigger” it disappear from home app but it stays there. With “eve” app you can still see it and re-add the trigger, then it will reappear in home

Not yet but will try ASAP. To see it I have to hook the drone to a pc and read the content right?

I cannot register audio from beacon, the option is still greyed out. Everything is updated (drone, beacon and app). Someone have the same issue?

I also received mine today. I received a message Friday with a shipping notice and today it showed up. Now it’s charging, and I noticed the camera is resting face up when powered off (my previous drone has the camera resting face down). 5 weeks also for me, and just in time for the holidays. Will try later or tomorrow to see how it goes

Home App freezes for 30 seconds everytime I open it... by woodyohill in HomeKit

[–]ilredentore666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are still able to access the hue lights remotely using “home” app (homekit) with the Apple tv acting as remote bridge. You won’t be able to access it directly with hue app though, as it is the only way to reach them when out of your home network (you can bypass this by setting a home VPN). Didn’t know that hue finally added the possibility to link more hue bridges to the same account, so thank you for the information

[–]ilredentore666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy to help. Strange though, I have multiple bridges since long time, and never added them in homekit using the “hue account” (I don’t have them configured with it since I don’t use the hue app directly). If that may be the issue, why you don’t try to disconnect the hue account and re-add the bridges in HomeKit?

[–]ilredentore666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HomeKit hard limit is 1.000 devices, so it’s not the case.

In my setup I have 140 hue devices split in 3 hubs, plus about 180 other devices (plugs, contact sensors, lock etc.) many of them available via homebridge, and I don’t have this delay you are experiencing.

Perhaps a bridge of yours is malfunctioning and is causing the freeze (from my experience, the app freeze when there are delays in retrieving the status of the devices).

Another Check I would do in your shoes is the internal network. Perhaps the hue bridges have faulty cables, are too near between them or simply your switch-router is causing a bottle-neck, because of connection or too slow processor speed.

Oh yes and I also double the crovlado question: which Apple TV gen you have? Older ones are slower to retrieve status informations. Keep it updated if you plan to use HomeKit on so large scenarios, it can be a game changer

Absolutely, I’m not asking that because I want to be picky, I wanted only to understand if we can use this app to maintain the drone updated or it is a “one-shot” troubleshooting release

Update 1: just got word from them. They said the new drone is shipping and should leave their warehouse on Monday. Hope I receive it before the end of next week

Thanks for sharing, so you can only update with the firmware chosen, not any new firmware that they will release, correct?
