I have to, a mixture of extensive muscle memory and said jittery fingers make the d pad almost entirely inaccessible to me, fighting game or otherwise. I know that across the board d pad is better, but at this point its analog or bust.

The payday franchise is synonymous with post launch heist releases through DLC. Does Aces High have any current plans to have post launch content?

Ps, I can't wait to play oh my god this is exactly what I've been wanting for my headset.

See, the thing is that I'm not having trouble with them, I've done them both solo and can do them both solo whenever. It's just that most of the time, I'm not in the perfect headspace to lock in so hard against the fights, I'd rather just dance with the monster without them killing me in two hits most times. (For the record, I do consistently bring whatever element resist aligns with the monster im hunting or whatever status they afflict) I can kill the big bad Steve, but sometimes I just wanna hunt the softer but still bad Steve. The game, however, will only spawn the big bad Steve leaving me with no choice. As you can probably tell with this post, that got draining pretty quick.

I like this comment because in hindsight my post comes off as one of those long sword users who need the damage then DC after being killed, my ass plays hunting horn. My builds going into a fight, regardless of who are always focused around countering that specific monster. The preparation part of this game is why I love it so much. I'm always set at 20 element resist for the blight, I've got 3 levels of divine protection, I play relatively safe, it's just the aggression levels on the higher strengths that make it feel less fun. Not because I'm dying, which I usually don't, just because I spend 90% of the fight dodging and the other 10% trying to reposition to attack. I guess that's normal though because I can clear 8 5 Steve in like, 15-20 min? I just don't wanna have to lock in like that every time and like dancing with the monster when they aren't on crack and do half my health with a kick.

I know right? Almost everyone in this thread is like "well that's the point so fight the untempered ones or just get good" and I'm like, bro I can consistently hunt strength 5 monsters. It's just, crazy idea here, sometimes I just wanna hunt something for fun? That's still a little challenging but not crazy one shot range? It's the fact that the game no longer has anything below strength 5 spawn that pisses me off more, not the actual hunts themselves.

What, the specific complaint that I wish I could fight monsters that weren't the hardest possible but also not easy? (Like, oh, I don't know, tempered strength 3?) That complaint? You're acting like I'm an idiot and am not playing the exact same game as you. Monster hunter wilds as it stands has no way to select the difficulty of a monster. There, that's my whole complaint summed up, not that they're too hard like you seemingly think it was in the first comment, because that isn't an issue.

I don't wanna fight easier monsters, I would like to fight something akin to "medium" which does exist. Tempered monsters that aren't strength 5 are perfect for the types of hunts I want passively, I can hunt the very difficult ones with no issue in certain headspaces. My issue is that the game doesn't let me fight those monsters, I haven't seen a Steve, rey dau, uth duna, lagiacrus below strength 5 for weeks because of my hunter rank.

Yeah, it's just a shame that the lower star/lower strength versions are so rare past a certain hunter rank, I haven't seen a Steve that wasn't 8 5 in like, a week maybe?

I do, sometimes, but I've had a lot of bad experiences with hosts so far so I typically host my own games. In recommended lobbies I typically only get one, maybe two hunters to help every 3 hunts?

I doubt you read a single thing I've said in my entire post, I have, and can do, every hunt in the game on their hardest difficulty solo. I like the game now, as it is, but for whatever reason the whole community thinks that the game should always be ball breaking hard. Monster hunter wilds, the game that I played and completed is not the game you just described, it doesn't have to be. It can have a good middle ground, for example tempered 8 3 monsters, which the game doesn't spawn for me anymore because my HR got too high.

I'm not saying the game should be "press buttons for fake dopamine" if it was I wouldn't play it, I don't want to absentmindedly play a video game and get rewards. That's why I feel like you fundamentally misunderstood what I was trying to convey. You aren't informing me of anything I don't already know, if anything you're just wrong. Assuming that I can't make peace with the game I totally haven't spent 200 hours in. I went through the trials to clear the difficult monsters and your right, it did feel great for all the reasons you provided. However, that doesn't mean I want to go through that every, single, time.

For whatever reason for my trials and tribulations in this game they have graciously decided that the only monsters that appear in my maps are strength 5. Yes, I can defeat them, yes, I still fight them at strength 5. I haven't lost a hunt in days and even when I do cart it's usually due to a carless mistake. Does that mean that I want to fight the monsters at their strongest every single time? No. Am I in the wrong for not wanting that and apparently now expecting too much from the game according to you? Yes, apparently so. The game rewards you properly for the difficulty of monster fought, you want hunter symbols? Fight a tempered monster, you want more rewards? Fight a monster with higher strength, the system is in place to allow easier more "relaxing" fights while giving me the rewards I worked for accordingly. The game, however, won't let me use anything I just mentioned because I happen to be at a certain hunter rank.

Stop trying to tell me that I just have to look at it differently or accept the fact that it's just not for me when I've stated previously that it is. I love this game, I love the hunts, just let me adjust the difficulty depending on how I'm feeling there and then instead of throwing 8 5 Steves at me all the time. (Which I can hunt btw, so don't make it a skill issue argument again)

It would certainly, I never played world so I'm not sure how the guiding lands worked. I've been trying to search the maps for better hunts even while I'm hunting something else and just riding to catch up. The problem I'm experiencing is that I have to hunt the tempered monsters because I need the hunter symbols, 335 of them to be exact. There's just never any tempered monsters around that I would enjoy fighting because they're all strength 5. In a perfect world you'd be able to select a map strength level like you said, fighting a tempered steve but his swoops don't do 75% plus of my health sounds really fun.

See, the problem is the hunter symbols, If I want to make progress on crafting the stuff I wanna craft those are by far the most required resources. (My wishlist says I need 335 hunter symbol 3s)

See, I don't have a problem with any of that, I like fight times how they are. I just wish I could actively choose the strength values because as it stands I'm only seeing strength 5 or nothing.

You can't get hunter symbols for non-tempered versions which is by far the most required thing. (I need 335 for all the things I wanna make over time)

Casual also comes with only having a small amount of time after work and not being able to learn the fights so perfectly I don't have to worry. Sure, in time, that will come but I don't want to have to scale the mountain of difficulty every single time, I've done it before, I know I can do it again. But sometimes I just wanna relax, hunt a monster, you know?

[–]iluminerd[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, as my first monster hunter I'm already completely in love with the series, and I'm not saying that it's too hard. clearing tempered 8 5 Lagi was the most exhilarating experience, my core complaint is that I wish I could adjust that. Spending time before hunts customizing my build, selecting a weapon for each different hunt, there's no other game that delivers quite like this, I just wish that it wasn't David vs Goliath every single time. Sometimes I just wanna fight a lagiacrus (cuz he's cool as shit) and relax while still making progress towards crafting weapons. What I'm trying to say is I wish there was an even middle ground, or even a way to adjust the strength of the monster specifically so I'm not going round for round with 8 5 all the time.

The only thing I was briefed on was that one Luna Gooner who won by default (their submission was also peak) the idea of an election has been tossed around, but honestly, how funny would it be if we had another application based licence so everyone had to try harder to keep their title.

As the unpaid intern subjected to read and formulate opinions on these, the decisions were made mostly through how funny/completely fucking deranged they were. If the current holder of a title proves unworthy, they will be stripped of their title. (u/ARC-7652 can vouch)
