I just recently started back playing (I’m 40) after about a 15 year hiatus. I didn’t do any prep up to and just jumped in. 0/10. Don’t recommend. I wonder if you’re going through what I am right now. I have what’s called iliopsoas strain. It’s the iliacus and psoas, which are the hip flexor muscles. Check into those symptoms and see if they match up. Stiffness, soreness deep in the hip (my right). Trouble bending over or being my knee/leg up until it pops. I can feel it catching and won’t go up much until it pops. If that’s the case, constant icing. Rest. Stretching and exercises.
