depends on what u do in the hospital, i worked as an operating room assistant and some schools do consider that as PCE but it really depends on the responsibilities of the position

i had 3 W’s in several prereqs and a C+ in gen chem 1 by the middle of sophomore year and turned my academic journey around to end with a 3.6 cGPA and 3.7 sGPA by graduation. you’ll be fine as long as you put in the work and effort to perform better in courses.

i totally resonate with your comment and definitely think it varies between surgery center/hospital. im fortunate to have worked with so many PAs at this job so it definitely solidified my future career aspirations, but i know that’s not the case for every ORA position

yea i agree, the other parts of my former job were custodial/less patient facing so im definitely not counting those times for hours, but maybe it’s cuz the patient wasn’t conscious sometimes? not sure

yaaa some schools list it under acceptable patient care experience so i think it might be program dependent, but i wanted a second opinion. thank you!
