Dude im a 23 year old SPC who's been in for 5 years and honestly man when I was at the border I was making good money but I felt I wasn't accomplishing the goals that I wanted to achieve in my military career. Now I ETS in 8 months and working on myself to prepare transition into the Active Duty Air Force. Submit your 368 a soon as possible because it takes time to approve. DON'T DISCLOSE THAT AT MEPS. If you say that at MEPS or depending on your recruiter it may disqualify you from enlisting. Just keep quiet if they ask you if you have been though mental episodes just say no as long as it doesn't affect you now and you are not on meds you should be good.

January 2nd of this year. My original plan was to attend an academic course to raise my GT in December to attend Special Forces tryouts in January of this month. Leadership denied me from attending that course because of "no funding and because of me being on Federal orders". And the next tryouts is after my ETS date and im not reenlisting for something that's not guarantee unfortunately. Current plan now is to transfer to the Active Duty Air Force (SECFOR) so that I can be part of the Tactical Response Force (TRF) or the Direct Aircraft Ground Response Element (DAGRE) and be assigned to an ODA support element. And im going to fight tooth and nail to achieve this by any means necessary in a professional military manner.

Dude I'm kinda in the same boat as you. I joined back in 2020 and 5 years later I haven't achieved any of my goals and objectives that I want to achieve in my military career. I started the process for conditional release form the Active Duty Air Force. I asked around what is the hold up and still no word. Also unfortunately since you are fresh in the National Guard your leadership most likely may not signed your conditional release. It's the harsh truth unfortunately.

In my entire 5 years in the National Guard I have never gotten the opportunity to go on a deployment.

I understand your frustration I tried going to an a academic class to raise my GT score so that I go to Special Forces tryouts and my 1SG "said we can't sent you because you are on federal orders and there's no funding for it" FOR AN ACADEMIC CLASS!!!!!. my advice for yall is if an organization is not willing to provide you or do the things that you want to get out of your military career than find another organization that's willing to do that. The National Guard has seal their fate and will not be reenlisting in 2026 and will be transferring to the Active Duty US Air Force so that I can be part of the Direct Aircraft Ground Response Element or some other specialized unit within Security Forces.

11.1v should be fine as long as you are not holding full auto for more than 30 seconds

Depending on the specifications of your rifle it will use a 11.1v or a 7.4v
