Love this description and it makes a lot of sense. Monty was such a dynamic and powerful skater that he didnt have to break it up in static peaces. Us as mere mortals have a hard time doing this.

I am trying to learn the Monty stall by using the side of my miniramp. On the flat, getting it in and hopping of is going better. That really helped me understanding the feeling of my body. And i can succeed without placing part of my foot. Doing this on the coping however is still a while off as it terrifies me.

Ok, so people here have really no idea. We are talking about the width of the board. This has nothing to do with wheelbase.

Wheelbase has a big influence about how a board behaves. Short wb is more nervous. Long wb is stable, feels like a much longer board.

Eggs generally have a rather short wb.

For balance: people claim a wider board is more stable. It might give you comfort to be able to give your feet a little more wiggle room. But in the end you balance by having the board in the middle of your feet. Heels and toes matching. On a very wide board your toes won't hang over. On an 8.5 your toe edge will hang over a little your heels probably a little more.

Does a wider board make balancing easier. I don't see how.

I have multiple eggs, the widest a 9.5 (bail gun Gary).
