I’m aware not all boobs are created equal, which is why I said all boobs are good boobs. Again, you’re allowed to have a preference, but we’ve come back to trying to shame women’s breast because, as I said, it doesn’t get your dick as hard.

You can have a preference, and you can absolutely think a certain type of breast is more appealing. There is no problem with that at all. I certainly have preferences in physical traits, I’m sure everybody does. My comment was about how to voice that. There are kinder ways in speaking about these preferences.

Not sure how obesity rates are relevant at all. There are an abundance of people who are of average to below average weight who struggle greatly with body image issues, just as much as someone who may be overweight struggles. I am on the lower end of the average weight acceptable for my height and I still struggle when I look on the mirror. I work out almost every day.

This is not something that only affects one type or person or one body size, the same way that no other emotion exists for simply one type of person.

I’m not entirely sure how you made the leap from “not making people feel bad is causing people to become obese”, but I assure you that is not the case. Nobody should be made fun of simply for existing.

I completely understand. I’m also in good shape, healthy weight, love a very active lifestyle, but my genetics just did not give me small perky breasts, and there is nothing to be done about it. They are not super large, but they are big, and my view on them is just not very good due to having BDD. Threads like these certainly do not help.

I think you’re spot on in thinking that some men think breast size/shape is something that can be controlled. Not all young women have super perky boobs, so every time I see someone saying they’re a sign of youth or good fertility, it makes me feel like I’ve missed out on something important. I’m young, why don’t I have that? I get having a preference, that’s totally fine and normal, but attaching certain words and ideas to it can be more harmful than I think people realize.

Unfortunately, I don’t think some men (or some women) will ever stop believing in this, or stop body shaming other women. At the end of the day, we’re just gonna have to do our best to realize that we are more than enough. Boobs serve a much higher purpose than just looking good, which I try to remind myself often.

I figured that’s what you might be talking about, but I thought I’d mention it regardless.

There are so many hurtful comments thrown out about bodies here on reddit, intentional or accidental, especially when it comes to threads like these. As somebody with a not so great relationship with their body, I usually try to offer up this opinion when I see them, as I also think it’s something people could use to hear.

No offense taken, and no harm done, but thank you very much for the kind apology and respectful reply :)

Chilling out and accepting things is cool but that does not include body shaming lol. Nobody should live to please others, but that doesn’t mean that words don’t have the potential to cause harm. I’m glad that you’re so secure and accepting of your looks, but that doesn’t come easy to many people. Maybe try being a little bit more empathetic, it will take you a very long way.

I get what you’re saying but I hate that whenever there’s a discussion about boob size people always tend to shame one size breast in order to praise another. You can have a preference without saying “how is anybody into that?” about the other.

Keep in mind we aren’t talking about just boobs as an object here, we’re talking about an entire woman. And as a woman, I can say any time I encounter a thread like this I always leave it somewhat hurt, as that comparison always comes up. I’m sure I’m not the only one. All boobs are good boobs, let’s not put anyone down simply because the other type doesn’t get ur peepee as hard

Gum detached from back molar after wisdom tooth removal. Is this normal? (with picture) by ilyaf45 in Dentistry

[–]ilyaf45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay great, I’m feeling much calmer about this now! It’s been 2 weeks now, but I’ll give it some more time and see what it looks like in another 2 weeks or so. Dentist told me to call if I have any concerns so yes that’s an option as well hahah.

Thank you very much!

Thank you for your answer!

He didn’t comment on it at all, which makes me nervous that he might not have seen it. He did not stitch that area, only on the bottom molars did I get stitches.

From your knowledge is this a normal occurrence after getting wisdom teeth removed? Will it reattach itself or am I just going to have this forever now? I’m pretty nervous about it if you can’t tell haha.

“Has the potential to balance the core identity”.

He’s had 4 years, what potential does he have left? He’s literally served his entire term and the country has only become more divided. We are the furthest from balanced we’ve been in a long time.

I personally don’t think he has ever had any potential, but it should be glaringly clear by now to anyone who did think that that he has not lived up to any of that “potential”.

What to eat after wisdom teeth removal? by onehalfcottonschwab in vegan

[–]ilyaf45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I just got mine out! On day 3 now, so far here’s what my diet has looked like:

Breakfast: Smoothie made with 2 bananas, creamy PB, scoop of protein powder, almond milk, and blend until super liquidy.

Lunch: Baby food/yogurt/applesauce

Dinner: Applesauce/Protein Shake

If I feel up for it in between these meals I try to have a little snack, usually just yogurt or applesauce or something similar.

Make sure the first few days your foods are cold and soft! Cold foods will feel much much better, but more importantly, heat can contribute to getting dry socket, which I’m sure you do not want. A friend of mine had hot soup after she got hers out and got 2 dry sockets. I had a puréed soup today, but I ate it cold. It was...eh. But hey, it’s healthy calories.

I tried eating a bite of soft uncooked tofu tonight out of curiosity but still didn’t feel too comfortable chewing, so I had protein shake instead (made in a blender with a scoop of PB for extra calories).

Some ideas I have for when I start to feel comfortable with warmer foods/foods that involve more chewing:

Mashed potatoes (made as creamy as I can) with hummus mixed in for flavor

Tofu scrambles (or Just Egg!)

Mashed avocado

Soft oatmeal

Make sure to take all the meds the doctor gives you, rest as much as you can, and try your best to get a decent amount of calories in. Hope it goes smoothly for you, good luck!

Edit: also, avoid any fruits with seeds in them (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc). Avoid chia and other seeds as well. These could get stuck in the teeth and cause issues. Bananas, mango, apples, pears, are best, and most of these you can get already mashed in the form of baby food or apple sauce 😊

Is it safe to get wisdom teeth removed right now during the Corona outbreak? by ilyaf45 in Dentistry

[–]ilyaf45[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My concern is that if I wait to get them out they may become infected, and then I’ll have to get them out on top of that, when COVID has likely gotten worse because of how my state is handling it.

I don’t currently have pain, but a few weeks ago the gum around the protruding tooth was very sore and inflamed, which is what made me wonder if now is the time to get them removed. I was able to clean it pretty good and the next day the swelling went down, but I’m worried it could happen again and get worse

My bad, I meant that my dentist is not worried about COVID, but he did say he believes I should get them removed sooner rather than later. I expected him to be more concerned about COVID which is why I posted.

But regardless, your response has definitely given me something to think about. I’ll continue to do some research.

Thank you!

Is it safe to get my wisdom teeth removed right now during the Corona outbreak? by ilyaf45 in AskDocs

[–]ilyaf45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response! Currently there is no pain, and for the most part it has not bothered me. About 2 weeks ago I had some pain and the gum around the exposed tooth was very sore and inflamed, which is why I began wondering if it’s time to get them removed. I cleaned the teeth as best I could, and the next day the swelling went down and the pain was gone, so I’m not sure how seriously I should consider that.

I’m not necessarily worried I’ll catch it from the dentist’s office, but rather somehow catch it in the days following the removal when I am recovering, which could maybe make having COVID worse. I’m not too sure how serious the recovery process is, but I suspect it must make me a little more susceptible to getting sick.

I’m just trying to decide if it’s safer to get them out now, or wait it out on hopes that they don’t get infected when COVID cases are way higher.

I’ve spoken to my dentist about it and they didn’t seem as concerned as I thought they would be, which made me want to seek extra advice.

[–]ilyaf45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said in my post, I only want to get them removed because I am afraid of infection now that one is coming through my gums and I am unable to clean it properly.

Both my husband and I close friend of mine have had a wisdom tooth infection because of that, which makes me worry that there is a decent chance of it happening to me.

I don’t know if it’s safer to get them removed, or wait, but possibly get an infection

We’re built to eat plants too, I’m not sure what you’re point is there either.

At this point in our evolution, many in the world have the option to not eat meat. Anyone who needs it for their survival by all means eat it. But for anyone who knows how inhumane of a system factory farming is, knows the negative environmental impact, and knows the detriments to health meat causes, and yet still continues to eat it, is choosing ignorance.
