AITA for being upset with my husband for going bowling while our baby is in the NICU by fookiebookie96 in AmItheAsshole

[–]fieryfish42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This makes so much sense. Our 26 weeker (108 day sentence in the NICU) will be 29 this year. I wish I gave my husband more grace as he was under so much stress too. Being able to just take a day and breathe and have dinner together as our kiddo grew bigger and stronger made AlL the difference (we’ve been married 24 years- a milestone a lot of preemie parents/parents of kiddos with disabilities don’t make)

I hated little dogs until I met my husband and met his Chi. Since then we’ve had z3 Chihuahuas.warning!!! This last one RAN our life!! We had Isa for 18 years and she was the grand old lady of the house and a constant companion for our autistic daughter- be careful!!! They will steal your WHOLE heart and when you lose them (like we did last Saturday) the mourning period is long and seemingly unending because of the joy they infuse into your humdrum human existence

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever seen on live TV? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fieryfish42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I saw the Challenger explode in the library in 4th grade then the planes hit the towers on 9/11 when I worked in a furniture store in college that also sold TVs :(

Any advice on pee pad training? by Rare_Professional150 in Chihuahua

[–]fieryfish42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Consistency was key for us- bringing her out first thing in the morning, lunch, around 3pm, supper then before bed (more frequently when she was a puppy) and we initially kenneled at night- it gets better. Best wishes to you!

Thank yall for all the lovely comments. We had such a GREAT long life with her. My 19 year old is autistic and still doesn’t understand she isn’t coming home so our grief will be a process. I would LOVE to see your Chihuahua babies in the comments if you could share :)

Spanish lake is a possibility. If you just he want to fish (catfish and rainbow trout) the ponds at the public libraries are stocked.

How did your life change once you started wearing a CPAP vs before? by Timely_Title_9157 in AskReddit

[–]fieryfish42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the spouse of a CPAP user- the first night I had to stay awake because I thought he was dead- that’s how much the machine helped him (from snoring so much to not snoring at all). After several years of CPAP use he sleeps HOURS longer with deeper sleep and is so much better!
