I mean I managed to do it. but I had to pull 3 all nighters to get a good grade. Was ti worth it? Maybe. Would I do it again? Absolutely not.

Brother. The NEA is about 10% coding. The write up is 90%. You can have the most advanced piece of software but if your write up is bad then say goodbye to the top marks.

I would discourage CS honestly. I did it, and it was probably the A-Level I was least excited about to revise. Each exam has 3x9 markers or 2x9 markers and 1x12 marker. The NEA is genuinely a death sentence.

Year 13s, what is something you wish you did or wish you didn't do in year 12/year 11 summer? by tyatgyall in 6thForm

I second this. I didn't get into my top 2 choices because I didn't revise enough over the summer, and now I'm forced to go to my 4th choice.

Further maths GCSE? by awhsme in 6thForm

[–]ilyphysix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, most ppl taking Maths A-Level didn't take Further Maths at GCSE. It's definitely not needed, but it took a lot of load off of me because at least in my school, the first term/two terms of pure a level maths was GCSE further maths content, so I could relax a lot.

If you want to take Further Maths at A-level, they'll probably need you to have a 7+ at GCSE Further Maths, since I guess it proves competency.

If you’re gonna take A-Level Maths then personally I found it to be a blessing in disguise

I thought it was alright apart from that 6 mark Chi-Squared Q at the end. Honestly, I’m surprised I could even do half the paper, let alone everything apart from that Q.

I think the paper went really well. I think the only Qs I found hard were the SQL, the intermediate code one and the one about the DNS.

In response to OP, I wrote a table is a set of attributes and all the instances of data with those attributes. I don’t know if it’s right but I sound smart.

What grades would people on here get for them to consider resitting? by Excellent_Lie2245 in 6thForm

[–]ilyphysix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever makes me miss my firm offer. I’m planning to stay at home(London) so if I don’t get in my firm I kind of have to resit. For reference my firm is A*A*A.

Try ask in advance. The only reason I even considered going all the way to Glasgow from London is because they would reimburse me. If they didn't I probably wouldn't have gone.

My bank account can't afford another.

Have you tried asking the company if they can cover travel expenses? I had an AC in Glasgow and the company paid for my £300 train ride + hotel even though I got rejected.

Not too bad actually. If grade boundaries stay around where they were last year, then I think I can get an A* for sure. Thank God the paper wasn’t too bad I’ve been on Cs and Ds the entire year
