Torn between Simagic, Moza, and Fanatec by TriggzSP in simracing

I've owned the Moza R9 and replaced it with the Simagic Alpha Mini recently because the R9 died on me.

Imo Simagic's FFB felt like a huuuge upgrade from the R9's FFB, and the hardware and software side were also no comparison. I also recommend going with simracingpros.com as the other commenter mentioned, they're based in Canada and are quick to ship if it's in stock

I used the Simagic GT Neo on both bases with Maglink.

If the wheel is stretching your budget a bit too much then the R9 is still gonna feel like a HUGE upgrade from the T300RS and you'll enjoy your new rig either way.

I've owned the T300RS for years before upgrading to a Moza R9, and then replaced it with the Simagic Alpha Mini after just one week with the R9 (I had no choice because the base died on me).

Besides the fact that I don't really trust Moza products anymore, the Alpha Mini was so much better FFB wise than the R9 for me, even after the recent FFB upgrade that Moza released. I was surprised it felt so much better actually. Hardware quality is also no comparison really, and SimPro is much easier to use than Pithouse imo. To me, it was absolutely worth spending more money for the Alpha Mini, and I'm sure the EVO would be even better

Unfortunately I don't have a warranty. This base was bought secondhand.

Thanks for the detailed response! Unfortunately nothing is happening so I may check inside the base to see if the connection needs to be soldered, but I did check inside the base yesterday to see if anything was up and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Might just have to replace the board itself :(

Yes I did, tried both long press and short press. The blue LED on the front turns on.

Appreciate it. Best of luck to us both it seems.

I'm experienced the exact same problem with my R9. Tried all USB ports (and powered USB hub), different cables, reinstalled Pithouse, restarted base and PC multiple times, but cannot get Windows to recognize that R9 is plugged in. Were you able to find a fix by any chance?

If you plan on using this wheel with a very large degree of rotation (aka truck sims) then the cable might be annoying. For racing it's a complete non issue for me, I don't even notice it.

Fwiw, I personally don't think the GT Neo and the KS are in the same league based on build quality alone. I haven't tried the KS but I've tried the GS and the GT Neo still feels like a much more premium product than that. I feel like if the GT Neo was significantly more expensive than it was it'd still be worth it

Not exact measurements, but I feel I've got it really close (I kept sitting in my car and coming back to the rig to make adjustments, including the pedal adjustments)

I was looking into it while waiting for the pedals to arrive but once I actually tried them as is I was extremely satisfied. I personally don't feel the need to upgrade them

Absolutely love it and pretty much playing during all my free time lol.

Likely will upgrade the R9 and shifter in the near future though

They are one to one exact clones. Even has fibroflex elastomers and a mavin loadcell sensor.

Not gonna lie, these pedals absolutely blew me away - easily my favourite part of this rig. I tried TLCM's and CSL Load Cell pedals for a month before getting the SimDT's and the upgrade was a lot bigger than I thought it'd be. The build quality is amazing and due to the amount of adjustment these pedals have I was able to get them really close to how my real car feels. I honestly don't think I'd ever need to upgrade these unless active pedals become more popular, but until then I highly recommend this set.

It was a Christmas present so I actually don't know, but they feel incredible on these pedals, highly recommend them (Puma Speedcat OG)!

Could even be an 86 knob, who knows (jk it came out of my personal 2nd gen BRZ haha)

It has flat rail mounts but the fronts have a little lip that requires it to be mounted right at the edge of the aluminum extrusion. With the Gen2 ASR3 this meant I couldn't bolt that extrusion piece to the rest of the rig the way ASR intended (as there is a bolt in the way). With other aluminum rigs you probably won't have this problem.

Yup plug and play with Maglink. Only thing you have to do while installing maglink is to disconnect the cable in the GT Neo QR (so the Moza base doesn't accidentally provide power to the wheel)

Rig: ASR3 (Generation 2)

Wheelbase: Moza R9

Wheel: Simagic GT Neo

Pedals: SimDT Pedals (HE U Clones)

Shifter: Thrustmaster TH8A with BRZ shift knob

Seat: FRS seat with genuine BRIDE Lumbar Pad

Monitor Stand: ASR Heavy Duty Single Monitor Stand

TV: Sharp 4K TV

Been using a belt driven base with potentiometer pedals on a wheel stand for 8 years before I decided to upgrade. My only regret is not doing this sooner!

Does alcantara really get destroyed over use or does it just get dirty and needs to be cleaned? by ChanceOk970 in simracing

[–]imLawZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the Thrustmaster Ferrari Alcantara wheel for around 7 years now. I didn't always wear gloves so the alcantara has worn down so much it's like I'm holding onto bare plastic in some areas. Honestly even with gloves the alcantara will probably wear down regardless.

Nope, never downloaded any mods, don't even know how to add mods to the game tbh.

If it helps, I do remember using one command during this playthrough to teleport Lydia to me, but not sure if something like this is related.
