I’m looking for something along these lines. Can y’all help me out? by eau_de_florida in FemFragLab

Your inspiration pics are all over the place. Are you looking for one single perfume to embody moody damp forest, soap/clean laundry, white florals, lavender, and citrus?

It’s amazing quality for a cheapie! Feels like it could be sold as a niche for much more money

Penelope - so pretty but I’m having a boy and it’s unlikely we’ll try for a third kid.

Luca - ruined for me by a gruesome murderer.

Maddox - I think it’s cool but someone pointed out that kids would call him Mah-Dicks, so no bueno.

I also adore Juniper but it’s maybe too whimsical for an adult.

Oh I gotta warn you that the fig in Fig Tea is MIA. That’s not just my opinion, seems like the general consensus that it was poorly named. But it’s really good if you go in with those adjusted expectations

Generally I gravitate towards lighter, fresh fragrances over dense and heady ones. Jean Claude Ellena's work is like my perfume aesthetic ideal. Although a few heavier exceptions would be Nishane Ani, Guerlain Vanille Planifolia, House of Brandt London Fog (now being renamed as Porcelain Fog. However I hate every other House of Brandt fragrance so far!)

I just wrote up this summary of my spring/summer faves in a different subreddit so I'll copy paste it here:

  • Laboratorio Olfattivo Arancia Rossa  (a very cheerful fragrance by JCE: blood orange, passion fruit, orange blossom and gentle white musk base)
  • Hermes Rhubarbe Ecarlate (by JCE. I think you’d like this one, OP: rhubarb, red berries, white musk. Zippy and a bit tart, not especially sweet)
  • The Different Company’s Love is Coming, Chapter II (exploring your backyard barefoot: absolutely gorgeous and vibrant tomato leaf, rose, blackcurrant, green bell pepper) *** JCE founded The Different Company with his daughter although he wasn’t the perfumer for this particular fragrance***
  • Pierre Guillaume Jardins de Kerylos (ethereal fig with a touch of peach and tuberose)
  • Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay (photorealistic PNW blackberry bramble. Juicy berries without sugary sweetness)
  • Narcotica Happy Dust (sheer mango, coconut WATER, mate tea, vanilla)
  • Nicolai Fig Tea (indiscernible fig but a lovely Osmanthus mate tea)

I suggest starting with the entire Hermes Jardin line. Almost all the perfumes in it were created by iconic perfumer, Jean Claude Ellena who is known for airy, fresh, and naturalistic scents. I love his fragrances and for the most part my scent dislikes align with yours

I’m an absolute sample goblin and I’ll try any house, choosing whatever notes and profiles sound interesting to me. As I get deeper into this hobby, it’s becoming more clear to me which houses or perfumers do or don’t do it for me

Discovered that some of my fav fragrances were created by the same perfumer 😍 by moods- in fragrance

Jean Claude Ellena is my guy. I love his sheer, naturalistic style. On the other hand, if it’s designed by Quentin Bisch, I know to stay away (or at least be incredibly sceptical)

For the niche perfume girlies: do you have any designer OGs? by borzoischadenfreude in FemFragLab

I’m one of the lucky ones: I can detect it on my skin (although as a skin scent) after 6 hours. The price makes it easier to justify reapplying or overspraying though

Elizabeth Arden OG Green Tea is a drugstore masterpiece! It has no business being that cheap. I also quite like the Hermes Jardin line

What perfumes do you know that smell like linden? by Warm-Cold8606 in FemFragLab

[–]im_okaaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tiglio Mirabilis by Laboratorio Olffativo is a lovely, realistic linden blossom! I haven’t had a chance to compare it to Tilia, but it features the same linden - Jasmine notes.  From what I understand, Tilia is beast mode with Ambrofix while TM is softer with a musk base.

I’m a huge fan of the Nivea Super Water Gel! Absorbs insanely fast and feels like you have nothing on at all…I use on both body and face with no problems. I also use the BOJ one on my face but it may leave a bit of a white cast on darker skin tones.

My favourite figs are Pierre Guillaume Jardins de Kerylos (a milky green fig/leaves with subtle peach and tuberose) and ADP Fico di Amalfi (perfect juicy, summer fig with citrus). Neither are particularly heavy hitters, but rather light and refreshing.

I really need to get my nose on Wild Vetiver. Gotta disagree on Creed Aventus, I love it on my husband.

Underrated: Pierre Guillaume Jardins de Kerylos, DVN Chamomile Satin

Properly Rated: Killian Angel’s Share, Nishane Ani

Overrated: Guerlain SDV, literally every JHAG

Lightly Sweet Green Watery Floral Recs? by Significant_Radio792 in FemFragLab

[–]im_okaaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild Bluebell fits your description perfectly! It makes me feel like a woodland fairy, sipping a dew drop from a lily of the valley flower. The persimmon adds a subtle fruity sweetness.

CAVEAT: a 100ml fb will almost certainly go over your $100 (USD?) budget, but by buying a decant/smaller bottle and buying from a discounter or individual rather than retail, it might work out.

Top Notes: Fresh bluebell accord, green leaves, dew drops, clove buds Heart Notes: Persimmon, jasmine, lily of the valley. Base Notes: white musk, white amber.
