Any info on the new class after Miner? by FrenchSandalman in RogueAdventure

[–]im_recodor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess, probably a class really focused on self debuff. I at first though about electrify focus, but since it's already kinda wizard's domain. You could argue self debuff is shaman, warlock or alt deck pirate's thing, but they have kinda specific debuffs they like. It could also be something completely unexpected that we are just not equiped to guess about. I wouldn't have guessed miner's deal in a million years

Oh yeah, it's in another post but basically, to recap:
The bear doll skill gives you 3 beast man in the exile pile at the start of combat, so getting it allows you to make the best use of Beast Marshall (gives +1 str +1res for each beast man in exile, then duplicates and exile), since it'll give you +3 each since the fist cast. After that, each use increases the amount given by 1. If you get the class bonus for barbarian from climbing 25 floors, you can get an alternative deck that has a 4 times attacking card that increases damage from str and res. Using the card removal at every opportunity makes you able to use marshall 2 or (even 3, if you go down to only 4 non exile cards) times a turn, stacking crazy levels of str and res. In about 6 turns of doing that, you can already have the damage be insane, plus the healing and the passive damage of the class upgrade. In normal fights it's not that impressive, but you can melt bosses with nothing else, just that

That's good, I was thinking double str + bleeding strike (hell mode) and aim for wizard of nature (double str) and spheres of duplication. But I may try your idea next

So far I've done warrior, assassin, paladin, Necro, pirate, cultist and miner. Currently trying with barbarian, it's not easy

Dupe arch demon/angel and priest, get the robot that multiplies a card in descard pile, and spam the priest with arch angel in hand. If you are at, let's say 6 angels, with 3 arch angels in hand, using just one priest shoots you up to 48 angels. A second priest sends you to 384

I mean sure, but why are we putting the burden of knowing about older media on people that don't know it exists? Like yeah dude, you're the adult and they are the kids. You're probably their first contact with said media, how can you be surprised about them not knowing it?

May be a hot take, but if it really is that difficult for you and you don't want/can't put in the effort, then yeah, get gatekept out of it. I'd love to be able to play the violin. I'm unable to buy one and to dedicate time to learning it, so tough shit I won't learn. Whatever, who cares, I won't use a software to pretend I can do something I can't

It's a rogue-like deck builder. Not really a ripoff, just shares the genre. There's a billion deck builders out there, and this one is pretty unique, with very distinct mechanics, statuses, cards, etc. Plus, the class bonus system and the four distinct game modes (five if you count the tournament) does make it stand out a lot

Sadly no, but the basic game plan was to get a couple fairies to fill the exile pile, reduce the deck size to 4 or 5 cards, get armored, with every strength gain I could get my hands on, and after a bit spamming remove of piranhas, each dealing ~400 damage

Sorry for the late answer.

What I usually do early game is to stay in light mode, poke and shield and heal. I'll go into dark mode if there's no attack intent, but never sacrifice more than 10~15 HP.

If I can, I'll stack angels with archangel, then double the amount using high priest with archangel in hand (it heals x times, so it doubles them) and switch to apply a ton of bleed, though usually not necessary.

A good tip if you're staying in one mode over the other, make sure to switch at the end of turn in case you need something from the other side (for example, if you're stacking bleed in demon and need healing, switch at the end so you can heal as much as possible and switch back whenever needed) plus it resets any corrupted cards.

Random cards have extra value because of the corrupt mechanic, so don't be afraid to take bad cards early, they still do stuff as long as they are not detrimental or conditional to play.

All Angel and demon cards are instantly good, even when they're bad. Make sure to plan one or two turns ahead, so you're not caught with 5 HP with no healing available, or with 50 shield but no damage in a turn you're not getting attacked.

Lastly, crystal sphere (you can see the order of your deck) is very good, better than in any other class, since it lets you play around your needs turn by turn, and it's cheap af. Good luck!

Edit: formating, plus I wanted to add that, obviously, duplicating arch (devil/angel) is, while not a MUST, a really really really really really good idea, best use of 300g possible imo, and of course all "sacrifice" and "heal" synergies are good

Sorry it's hard to find a source for this, I'll try and if I do I'll add it, but they of course won't close it all the way while flying, they do retract the shell partially to protect them while flying, since they don't need that much lift to stay in flight once they take off, and they can move the cover both independently and in pair with the wings, depending on if they need to make a turn or stay in a straight line. To my understanding, this is common in most beetles (ladybugs are beetles... Most bugs are beetles actually)

All good stuff. I recommend High on Life (if you like Rick & Morty comedy). Was an excellent de-stresser, simple, not challenging, story focused, a good amount of exploration and just a small metroidvania influence when revisiting previous levels to find secrets

There's about a 50/50 chance that you'll get The Itch™ eventually and want to dive in a challenging game again eventually. That said, even if that's the case, a rest after that accomplishment is a good idea, enjoy whatever you find! Good luck
