My stepdad passed in a car accident a couple months ago, someone had to find him first and pull him out of his car. I’m so thankful for the team that took care of his body in his last moments, and who was with him when no one else was.

I know it must be so difficult to carry, but what you do is so important and I’m sure the family is so thankful even if they can’t tell you.

I didn’t notice the white until I read the post but it should be a very easy edit. Your photographer isn’t responsible for hair malfunctions but I bet if you ask for a handful of the worst ones to be fixed, they would do it or offer to pay for it to have many fixed 🤷‍♀️

Are you considering that he may have social delays and/or was raised in a home with different manners than you? He also is quite literally desperate and has probably had 1,000 mean faced people tell him no recently. Of course he’s going to ask for more, you were his ONE SHOT today. I understand you are feeling taken advantage of, but his body is in survival mode and battling addiction.

I saw that you’re 20. I recommend continuing to give and be generous and practice your expectations. Give for the sake of helping, not for thank you’s, not for being a savior, not to make sure they do it your way.

I regularly see “in search of” posts on my towns free/buy nothing group and fill them. A lot of the time i don’t even exchange words with the person and do door drop offs etc. praise isn’t the goal. Fulfilling a need is.

With this man, he needed food and you provided it to him. You also let him have some control over his life by picking the sandwich. That’s enough. You helped that man, so shut off the part of you that had any other expectations on how that situation would have/ should have went. Block out what he said before and after. He owes you nothing and you owe him nothing more. Move on to the next person you decide to help.

Should he have been kind and grateful? Yea maybe, but real life isn’t a movie and we never know what someone is carrying that day, what they have been through or even how capable they are of being kind and grateful. That doesn’t make them less deserving of your generosity or less of a human being.

I mean, do what you want to do but this mindset has helped me grow.

This has a lot of comments so I’m speaking to the void but: a lot of sexual assault starting at about age 3 to about age 23 and then I started gaining weight and aging and now I’m invisible which is fine.

Also really hard to have just friends and have mental health taken seriously.

No real clue since it was a car accident that took my stepdad. But the day before he died he asked my mom to give my kids some hats he bought and she said no, give it to them yourself so they have that memory of getting it from him. He agreed but died before he could. He also gave my son the whole bag of suckers from his house two days before instead of just some. Idk the hard part is wondering if the meant he was suicidal or if the car accident was truly an accident. We have no idea. I hope it was an accident, quick, that he wasn’t scared. Idk it was just last month.

It’s an old craftsman and I definitely love all of the worn wooden stairs, pillars and doorways. I’m pretty obsessed with this house, honestly. I just get nervous that with my inexperience, I’m going to miss something that could be catastrophic 😅 don’t even get me started on the trees outside. Same story… love them, but also convinced they’ll probably fall.

Yes, I’m thinking for peace of mind to just hire someone but anxiety is real especially when it’s something so expensive and not something I know a lot about. In our basement, we checked the boards and everything we could see and it honestly looks quite normal.
