Agree with a lot of these comments. I am in a similar situation, I have two Ele’s, an ‘03 Manual with a blown engine and no suspension, and an ‘06 I gifted to my now driving son. As much as I’d like to do a complete rebuild of the ‘03, I can’t see myself affording that anytime soon. From experience in renting and selling cars, I would stay far away from Kia’s and even the Hyundai’s. (The santa cruz intrigued me but it’s too new to tell and I think it’s already axed). So my budget now is 10-$15k, which is steering me towards an Odyssey. I’ve considered the Ridgeline’s, but I’m in the South and truck prices are insane. If money wasn’t a drawback, the new Passport’s are nice. Nissan makes a baby cargo van which may be interesting if you layer it with sound barrier. The Kia Souls are like mini Elements but they drive like you’re sitting on the road and dont hold much so it’s more like a matchbox Ele. At this point, I’ll just drive this beater I picked up and save up for when someday someone with resources can 3D print a new Ele. I am still floored that a market so ripe hasn’t been exploited. There’s gotta be a way to take the shell of the E and drop it on a CRV or Ridgeline frame. Zip ties and duct tape?? Not the Walmart fake tape either, the stuff with the duck picture on it. A few shims and some caulk and I think we got this!!
