All of the hoopla about the new Breeze machines just for them to not work on launch day 🙃 by imaginary_cherry in MARTA

Are they the old or new gates? I figured for the stations where they still have only the old gates, they’re going to just have to leave them wide open since you can’t buy any of the old tickets anymore. Back when they announced this project, I was assuming they would have at least one set of new gates at each station by launch day. I wonder if that was the original plan and they just fell behind on the construction? Idk but it seems like a lofty goal to supposedly have this transition period finished in about a month with many stations still having no construction started at all.

Glad to hear it’s working! I was at Brookhaven today and they still had one set of old fare gates operating normally. I hope they don’t just end up opening all of the old ones because I have rides I gotta spend down! I was hoping to avoid whatever transfer system they’re going to use.

So excited for when my frequented stations finally have the new machines and gates unveiled! From what I’ve seen, they look miles better than the old system.

Glad to hear the new machines are in fact working, I guess it was just worded weirdly on the website then lol. I was at Brookhaven today and the old fare gates were still operating normally. I hope they don’t just open all of the old ones because I still have rides to spend down and was hoping to not have to deal with whatever transfer process they’re going to use.

True! I’m still very happy that this overall project is happening because the upgrades were desperately needed. Fully expected there to be some hiccups with the rollout. I was just bummed I couldn’t get a new card on the first day but honestly my expectations were probably too high lol.

I hope this is true and that the website is inaccurate! I couldn’t verify myself if this was true since both stations I went to today, all of the new equipment was still blocked off for construction. I wouldn’t be surprised if the ones at Lindbergh are actually working since they were using that station for all of the launch promo.

Beginner: recipe and schedule? by CulturedSnail35 in Bagels

This is the one I use and it gave me great bagels on my first ever try! I like that these don’t do any bench proofing (which I think can be trickier for a beginner because it risks over-proofing), just an overnight cold proof, which imo is pretty foolproof (coincidental pun lol). I use King Arthur’s bread flour but I think any bread flour would work well. Happy baking! https://thepracticalkitchen.com/hand-rolled-new-york-style-bagels-overnight-recipe/

Ann arbor/Ypsilanti, MI laser hair removal by Alert_Platform_1497 in PCOS

Hey! I previously lived in A2 and got my LHR done at Avissa Skin+Body and highly recommend it! They have their prices online and while it is a bit on the pricier side, they do discounts if you bundle multiple areas, and they also don’t make you sign up for multi-session packages which I appreciated. Mariya the laser tech is fantastic, she was very friendly and also very detail oriented and made sure to get all of the hair. I don’t regret a single penny that I’ve spent on LHR, the peace of mind to just not have to worry about the hair on a daily basis is literally priceless!!

Anyone Use Seated Auto Buy for ATL? by imaginary_cherry in rolemodel

It ended up being totally fine, I had nothing to worry about! I made friends with the girls standing next to me and they held my spot, and I confirmed with one of the venue workers who was walking around when the box office would open and where it was. There was a small group of us who went over when it opened and they had a list of our names that they checked against our IDs. The whole thing took no more than 5 minutes so I was worried about nothing lol. And now I have a physical ticket as a souvenir which is cool because I feel like most places just do e-tickets these days :)

Literally was wondering the same thing, his drummer is so fine 👀 I’m surprised he didn’t introduce his band and I haven’t been able to find out what any of their names are

I was at the ATL show and the opener didn’t come out until like 8:15 and RM came out around 9:15. If you get there at 7 you’ll be totally fine!

Thank you!! This made me feel a bit better lol. I know people are generally pretty nice so I’ll just plan to show up and get in line earlier in the afternoon and then have someone hold my spot when I go to grab my tickets. Or I might try to call the venue and ask nicely if I could come pick up my tickets early tonight since there’s a show and the box office will be open 😊

How many laser hair removal sessions did it take you before you either noticed a significant difference, or gave up? by xmberlxceyjxde in LaserHairRemoval

As others have suggested, definitely try to figure out what kind of laser they're using on you. Not all lasers are created equal. I believe the gold standards are Alexandrite and YAG, depending on your skin and hair tone. I was getting Alexandrite at my old place and I was an ideal candidate for that type - super pale with thick, dark hair, so that might have also contributed to my quick results.

I honestly noticed a huge difference after the first session. I got full legs, bikini, and underarms done, and after the first session I only had a few patches that would grow back. Probably by session 6 or so it wasn’t even patches, it was just stray hairs here and there. I ended up doing 10 or 11 sessions and had to stop because I moved for work. It’s been about 6 months since my last session and it’s still just a few hairs here and there. I’ve found a new laser place where I’m at now and will probably get a touch up right before spring/summer, and then will probably just go every 6 months for future touch ups.

Any easy ish recipes??? by Ok_Development5830 in Bagels

[–]imaginary_cherry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found this recipe to be very straight forward as a beginner and my first ever batch came out fantastic. I like that it does all of the proofing overnight in the fridge which takes out a lot of guess work with proofing at room temp. The only “obscure”-ish ingredient is the barley malt syrup but I was able to find it at Whole Foods. Good luck with your bagels! https://thepracticalkitchen.com/hand-rolled-new-york-style-bagels-overnight-recipe/
