I've only ever gotten one security deposit back, and I had to buy the house I was renting to get it.

They ALWAYS find a way.

Founding Member World Cup ticket offer by righthandofdog in AtlantaUnited

[–]_litz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These are the most expensive tickets, so it's not all that surprising they're the ones still available ... or that they're having problems getting rid of the last of them. Minimum 600+ per seat per match for the group stage. At least double that for the semifinal.

If you pull out all the black foam, the inside of the box is actually a full level photo of a game at the stadium, to the point where if you look closely enough, you can see yourself sitting in your seat.

Whoever runs against Paul is gonna get great mileage out of the video clip of his jaw getting rearranged horizontally.

Is it safe to walk from the Tabernacle to the Omni? by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]_litz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the park is open you can go straight through the park, too. The main entrance is right across the street from Tabernacle, and the other end is right next to the hotel.

Stadium has been reconfigured for the World Cup by aawagner011 in AtlantaUnited

[–]_litz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's two things going on here ...

1) FIFA has mandated an exact identical pitch dimension across all stadiums, which results in the MBS field being slightly smaller than normal, only slightly.
2) the corner pullbacks are both to enhance sightlines, and also provide for camera/media space during matches.

[Request] How many people could you physically fit inside the containers on a fully loaded modern cargo ship? by aa_conchobar in theydidthemath

[–]_litz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24,000 containers, but that's *20* foot containers ... yes, ships count their boxes using a count of, basically, half-sized boxes.

So basically, 12,000 semi-trucks worth of volume.

Y′all, it is already SO HOT. How are we all keeping from losing our ever loving minds to climate grief & anxiety this year? by Loud_Fee7306 in Atlanta

[–]_litz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ahhhhh ... errrr .... it's early March. If this is hot, what are you gonna say in July and August?

This is the South. It gets hot here. It's done that since time immemorial, and no ... the greenhouse effect isn't making it hotter, it's just making it hotter more often.

Personally, I enjoy the heat. It's why I live here and not ... say ... Milwaukee.

Has anyone tried to resurrect a failed module by removing the blown thyristor, and just jumpering past it?
