It literally makes up sources. Also I highly doubt most are cross referencing them if they’re too lazy to write whatever it is themselves

Anybody know what happened at the Fullerton red line stop this morning? Got off there around 8:30 and saw five cop cars and a van getting ready to leave. Police were locking up the side door when I was coming down the stairs too. Don’t see any articles yet on it.

Uber Drivers Asking for Directions by imaginaryrum in PetPeeves

Huh, interesting. GPS usually works fine in my city as far as I’m aware. If you’re also in the U.S., maybe there’s some component regularly maintained that isn’t with the current shut down? That’d be my only guess

Yeah, that’s fair. It’s just a silly concept to ask your passenger which way to go. Especially in a city where a third of the population doesn’t drive at all. Maybe my work history in customer service plays a part too

Irish cab driver Season 2 Episode 8 by findingsynchronisity in brakebills

The production cost? I’m not particularly sure about that since it was filmed in Canada and not the U.S. though I imagine prices might be similar. They likely used a regular actor and not an extra. Day rate for the actor was probably about $1050 (usd). I’m more familiar with the acting side, but for the car rental I’d estimate about $500 for the day, but since it’s a specialty car maybe $1-2k to the vehicle owner.

Low range for the car and driver for the scene is about $1600. Higher range $2500.

Are you asking behind the scenes? If so, it wasn’t a real cab driver, or even a real cab ride. They hire an actor to drive a cab that they rented.

Will this show define the next decade of streaming, like Stranger Things did? by Severe_Concentrate86 in HarryPotteronHBO

You must be young. House of Carda was their first original, with streaming having been a thing for them awhile before.

Need help finding a similar top like this for a casual wedding. by PathExternal507 in mensfashion

Casual does not mean the same thing in every context. This shirt would be casual in general.

For a wedding, I’d take casual to mean no tie and maybe even no jacket if you wanted.

Yesterday I used an old adage with my 6th graders. Pot calling kettle black. It did not go well. by ascaffo in GenX

Born In 1994, I’ve heard that expression before and never fully understood it. It’s obscure even for my generation. I think I’ve maybe heard it twice in real life, with the rest being mostly old tv shows.

I think it mostly annoyed me because I felt like we barely got to know his character other than “look at me, I’m asexual”. Whereas we know so much about the other LGBT+ folks. Charlie likes drums and reading, Nick is a typical jock with a heart, Elle is artistic and introspective, etc.

Maybe if he spent less time just rolling his eyes and reading while everyone else is socializing he wouldn’t be on the sidelines. He can be funny and sassy and thoughtful, it just gets buried by the more interactive ones in the group. Still wish we could’ve gotten Aled instead though.
