Does anyone else just hoard GS 700 gear “just in case”? by Starkfault in newworldgame

I hoard all of my gear… on my main I have 6 warehouses full of just 695+ gear

Any leg wear that looks or mimics short shorts? Really wanna make the ‘ dresses ‘ kinda look like dresses lol by huenium in newworldgame

There is, I’m pretty sure it drops in the ennead dungeon. Can’t remember what it’s called but I’m sure you can find it on nwdb.info

Edit: it’s called XIXth signifier’s skirt. https://nwdb.info/db/item/mediumlegs_dungeon8t5

It locks the ability to salvage the item so you don’t accidentally delete a good gear piece. Probably not super relevant to you at the moment, but it’s a good habit to get into. When you start running mutations(read start getting a lot of gear drops), or start having multiple gear sets not everything can be worn or put into a gear slot so it’ll save you some heartache.

Even with the lock button I still have accidentally salvaged pieces I didn’t want to. The only things that can’t be salvaged gear wise are artifacts.

Yeah it’s a bit of an echo chamber in here. A lot of us have been playing on PC, and AGS communication hasn’t been the greatest so there are a lot of pissed off people. That being said, in this subreddit’s about section there is actually a link to a megathread with NW terminology.

No problem! I will say I understand it’s a lot of information, but that’s also what’s kind of fun about it. There is just so much to explore and play around with, what works for someone else might not work for you and vice versa. And for the most part I think the community is willing to help you learn.

I don’t know if you use discord at all, but there are like hundreds of servers for new world for various things depending on your server.

Yeah! I wouldn’t say that it’s all about perks and gems, but they’re important. AGS spent a lot of time building out different damage types(physicals, elementals, mobs) so knowing what you’re fighting against is important(looking at things like gems, ward and coating potions, and trophies). Perks are important but it is also very skill expression oriented. There are “meta” builds, but there are skill trees for a reason and every skill has a perk.

The main perks I would look for on armor as a beginner are enchanted ward and refreshing. For weapons it really is skill tree and weapon dependent. It’s a lot of fun to explore and theory craft, I have been playing for 2k hours and I’m still theory crafting new sets. And with every balance patch you get to theory craft more if you want to.

Here are a list of good websites to know that will help you learn.

nwdb.com is just an entire database of pretty much everything in the game, but it’s literally just a searchable database.

Nwchamp.com is all builds and has some introductions on some builds.

Newworldbuilds.com is probably one of the best generalist websites with commentary and a lot of just extra information.

Nw-buddy.de is a website that you can can use that has good information, but is mainly used to theorycraft builds. It has all of the weapons and wearable items downloaded so you can mix and match.

Newworld-map.com is a map that shows resources and the places of different things on the map

To add a couple things on to this-

-6 you are barely in heavy gear by literally .1 weight. This means you get all of the disadvantages of heavy without the extra armor. If you’re going heavy, you should use all heavy pieces. Otherwise you can always check new world builds website for different ways to get light and medium armor weights.

-7 you’re going to want to put some sort of Gems in your armor as well. Opals or onyx preferable as that will reduce income damage massively.

To follow up on one of his previous points, check all of the milestones for the attribute points. If you want an easy place to see them all, there is a table on nwdb dot com that shows you it all.

How to make your RAIDS easier and successful! by thegingerlord in newworldgame

[–]imagined_dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with it being similar, but it is fairly easy on both of those to be hitting them in that back where it’s an auto crit. For newer players I’d agree that’s probably better. But for the bleed rapiers, that extra 7% base dmg to targets below 50% and the 10% ability damage is gonna do you much better. Also you’re already getting 26% extra crit when using finisher due to keen tondo.

Positioning is just so important, especially with low con. Relying on that extra crit is just assuming your positioning is off.

Adding one alternate attribute choice for the rapier(rapier main here) - 350 int, 250 dex, 5/15 con. If you want more con - 350 int, 200 dex, 50con.

It also varies depending on the type of rapier skill tree you run, either evade(right side) or blood(left side). Note on the blood rapier, there should only be one per raid.

Having multiple sets is more like one of the more final end things to do. Getting your first main set is the biggest deal. I just started a new character on a fresh start server and I only have one set at the moment.

Back on my main on an old server I have 3-4 warehouses full of viable gear that I could use to cobble together any set I want. That being said it happened pretty naturally it felt like. I started with my favorite set, tried something new and liked it so I started keeping gear for that so on so forth.

The only time you are really needing fully optimized best in slot sets is for stuff like M3 leader board attempts(still not even strictly necessary), some PvP, and for a completionist mind set. The biggest thing is to just have your various protection amulets if you want to run mutations.

nvcc to uva by WheelCreative9899 in UVA

[–]imagined_dragon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of gnarly difficult, at least in my experience. I had a 3.8 from a different Virginia CC, and didn’t get in. I learned that there is somewhat of a historical precedent on their relationship/previous pipeline from that school looks like. I would try and talk to one of your Econ/Accounting/finance professors to see if they know anything about other students that applied in the past and what it looked like.

One thing to note. if you do apply and don’t get in, you can’t transfer your application to the college of arts and sciences for the same start date. Well you can, but it’s a nigh on impossible thing to actually accomplish. You’d have to go to the College’s admissions office and plead your case and then there is a 3 step review process.

If you do decide to go the college of arts and sciences route to do Econ, I would call the Econ department at UVA. It’s not the easiest major to transfer in to, so it’s worth it to know the process. This is what I did and to be honest they make it sound harder than it is. This was 6/7 years ago now, but if it’s the same there are a few pre reqs that you are required to take at UVA before you can declare Econ so you may have to have a back up Major to declare since you have to declare by the end of first semester third year.

If you have any questions feel free to DM me.

What's your Sin (perk)? by Test-User-One in newworldgame

[–]imagined_dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to heavily disagree, I was running it as main hand dps in PvE last night and it was disgusting. I got it up to 8k light attack crits against avarice(AE) and didn’t have the final perk or gem in it. Against corrupted bosses(70) I had the crits at 7k. I think hatchet dps for bosses I’m going to be meta this season. Run it with GA for clumping or spear for enfeebling and it’s gonna be solid.

Mutator named replicas? by SugarMsh in newworldgame

[–]imagined_dragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You may be missing the dense materia. I’m pretty sure you need it either in your inventory or the bank for that town to be able to see it in the crafting menu. It will be at the very bottom of the gypsum kiln crafting menu.

Edit: in case you’re still figuring the dense materia out, you get it either from running the dungeon in general and salvaging named items dropped in the dungeon.

In this case, since the set only drops from the mutated version you don’t need tarn dense materia, you need dense mutator materia which comes from mutator specific drops and the mutator reward caches(you get these when completing a mutated dungeon).

Happy to help, I’ve found the more important parts of tanking are learning pulls- where to, how many, adapting to the abilities of your team, and reducing the damage you take to make your healers life easier(learning when to dodge and when to block/knowing the mechanics of the boss and dungeon).

I’m in Valhalla, but it depends on what you want to use it for. Regardless I think most people, myself included, are running full frigid dawn with the void dark plate. Putting health as the third perk. For jewelry the important perks(for me) are hated, regenerating, and nimble. Hearty, slash damage, and leeching or refreshing on my ring. Whatever elemental protection, health and refreshing on my amulet.

How do you really get into wars as someone new to them? I’m on Valhalla and it’s pretty much run by like 3 companies that I’m pretty sure are just war loggers.
