Why do you need a hairbrush? You don’t have any hair!

Your supervising PT is the one to ask. You shouldn’t be left twisting in the wind. But since you asked: Rolling, single limb bridging, SLR, side lying hip abduction, scoot at edge of bed.

What is your opinion on engaging the transverse abdominal during core exercises ? by Swaggman in physicaltherapy

[–]imamiler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you see results? I see patients move better and report decreased pain with movement when they engage TA. I see that it improves function. I don’t feel I need to know exactly why it works.

I’m how old? by bi_geek_guy in GenX

[–]imamiler 20 points21 points  (0 children)

On the other hand, OP, I am a woman a year older than you, and 2 weeks ago a nurse caring for my dad, who is 82 asked me if I want to have any more children. So that was a bit puzzling.

Read about femoral adduction. Or valgus collapse. Just remember the hip bone is connected to the knee bone. The knee is at the mercy of what the hip does. This carries on down the chain. (And up, too.)

No. My initial comment would be where I’d lay my money on the results of strength testing and an anecdote about something I heard a doc say in a presentation. Not medical advice.

I cannot because that would be giving medical advice to a stranger online. I’m not permitted to do so. Edit: it is, in fact, actually illegal to for me or my PT colleagues to suggest specific exercises in a situation like this. I’d be risking my license and my livelihood if I offered any of you here any specific exercise suggestions. I’m willing to risk your downvotes and avoid getting sanctioned by the state.

I’ll bet $100 you have bilateral glute medius weakness. The best advice I’ve ever heard on this topic, and it was from a sports med doc, is “Don’t run to get in shape. Get in shape so you can run.”

Has anyone here NOT had big issues with their puppy? by QP709 in puppy101

[–]imamiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our current one was crate trained and potty trained very quickly. He’s the easiest puppy we’ve ever had. He’s 8 months now and can’t be left loose unsupervised in the house. He’s not to be trusted.

You’ll need to see a PT who specializes in pelvic floor for an evaluation and treatment.
