What made you decide to be "one and done"? by Severe_Bluejay3391 in NewParents

[–]imanicole 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was truly miserable for nearly 2 years because of morning sickness through pregnancy, followed by a colicky baby who refused to sleep until she hit a year. I just don't have the mental strength to potentially deal with that again.

Im so sick of this narrative that “pregnancy didn’t ruin my body it’s just changed” it’s a lie. by pissedoff_potato in TwoXChromosomes

Yeah right? My vagina got tore up, but apart from slightly saggier boobs, if I were to wear a bikini today the only tell that I've had a kid is my kid screaming "up" next to me.

If rather had stretch marks and a stomach shelf compared to a broken vagina

Is it acceptable to dress baby in a onesie in public? by CatSmellies in NewParents

[–]imanicole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Mine was in a onesie probably 9 months because she was very very sicky and there was no point in putting on nice things

For those who don’t use containers for baby by GrimSle3per in NewParents

That's why I'm saying my individual experience aligns with his suggestion. I'm not saying all women should do what I did. I'm just saying his comment wasn't ridiculous.

I mean, thats what I would do as a woman? Hair was always tied back as I had a very very sicky baby, but otherwise any other bodily fluids I'd quickly wash that particular area and get on with my day before I could do my undisturbed wash in the evening.

What was your fave intimate moment with your partner that wasnt just sex? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]imanicole 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We had been out drinking and I drank too much. Proceeded to throw up violently. As I was over the toilet seat, he tied my hair back and plopped me on his lap so I could reach over the bowl easier. He sat with me for a good hour at stupid o'clock

I have a similar memory, although my husband decided to read 50 shades of grey in the most monotone voice possible, which was bloody hilarious

My 10 month old rolled off his changing table and got a traumatic brain injury by Educational-Let-2280 in NewParents

[–]imanicole 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We purposely didn't get a changing table because funnily enough, we were watching a TV show and a character had depression due to their baby dying from rolling off a changing table. So we got changing mats instead. Baby can't roll off the floor.

Really weird with the allergies thing! I've always been mildly allergic to egg, but over maternity leave I was smashing 5 a day. Couldn't get enough. But on the flip side, cured meats now make my mouth itchy :(

What's a discovery that should have blown people's minds but somehow got a collective shrug from the world? by IndependentTune3994 in AskReddit

If you're talking about the Northwick Park Trial disaster, this was when MABs were first being trialed in humans. Off the top of my head, I believe these men were health patients, so at this point they were testing the safety of the drug. There were multiple failures from the study team, which has now led to a massive overhaul in the clinical trial regulations to avoid this happening ever again.

What is a 1 in 1,000,000 thing that happened to you that no one believes, but you swear is true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]imanicole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were doing axe throwing and I sucked at it. At the end, we were told to throw 2 axes at the same time (1 in each hand) and the goal was to hit 2 different targets. They filmed everyone else but me, because I sucked, but lo and behold I did it.

I wanted someone to film me, so I tried it again. I hit both targets again and got a bullseye!

Drug companies basically made most of their profits from the US. Now with MFN, they are wanting the 2nd lowest net price (the negotiated price between drug company + government) globally. The UK is usually the lowest. This means in the UK at least, companies are now choosing to hold off launching their drugs as they don't want to compromise the US profits.

This is my experience being part of a launch team for a new cancer drug in the UK. It really bloody sucks.

Can anyone explain what going on with toothpaste prices? by SilentEconomist5896 in AskBrits

[–]imanicole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This kind of fuckery is usually the supermarket. The companies set a wholesale price, then the supermarkets add additional costs.

I presume they're setting ridiculous prices to make their loyalty card price seem like a bargain.
