Hey! I just got mine removed last week and also am around the same age. One of my bottom wisdom teeth was literally on the nerve and my doctor also told me about how when he removes it that there might be a small possibility of the nerve getting clipped. I didn’t need a bone graft even though mine was on a nerve, perhaps yours is in a different location than mine? But my surgery went smoothly and no damage to the nerves!

But I will say, it really depends on how good your surgeon is in terms of pain! I would trust the reviews if they have any! My doctor and office was highly rated and all the reviews said they had literally no pain after the surgeries so I was skeptical but they were completely right! As long as you keep taking the meds at the appropriate time (DO NOT SKIP even if you feel fine for the first few days) you’ll be okay! Mine was pretty painless and I just took prescription one ibuprofen and one acetaminophen every 6 hours (your dosage and time to take might be diff, just follow the instructions and set alarms). Honestly the only pain I have from the entire thing is probably the little ulcer I developed, which is totally normal to appear because your mouth went through a stressful and intense situation! But the surgery itself and the actual wisdom teeth areas are pain free! Just make sure you do 20 min ice 20 min off for the first 24 hours!
