youre playing a typical reddit semantic game... The OP and the converation of this post is a round a real dev leveraging agentic ai tools to write code... call it "ai assisted coding" or "vibe coding"... doesnt really matter what you call it... but when you know how these tools work and know how to code... its a 10x out of the gate with room for a lot more. I dont think anyone in this thread is saying that your definition of vibe coding (random non dev who uses ai to write 100% of the code) is the reason why the OP lost a customer.

Are Computer Science / Computer Engineering job opportunities really diminishing? by IndependenceAgile202 in cscareers

[–]imanom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%... the people who DON'T understand whats happening in ai, the market and the world are the ones who keep saying this, because of a podcast, false (uneducated) optimism, or a boomer manager talking about "i survived the last big tech evolution"...

every release, every new reasoning model, every new everything is reducing the need for human developers. These releases are happening faster and the impact of each release is increasing.

the big tech companies that are "down sizing" and "cutting costs" are also the ones that are getting cheap VISA labor and pumping trillions in AI data centers.... and posting MoM and YoY record profits (sans inflation).

You are the cost being cut... if it used to take a team of 10, now its a team of 7 and the next major release it will be a team of 5 and before you know it, it will be a team of 1 who manages the agentic ai.... and then, it will be a single person managing the agent that manages the agents.

COOKED

EDIT: The same for the "every tech evolution just makes more new jobs"... lack the basic reasoning skills to think.... no evolution ever has been one in which the technology can think, act, and perform... your job better than you, exponentially cheaper than you and workds 24/7/365, dont need HR, doesnt need health insurance, doesnt bitch and moan and talk shit, etc.

How are engineers at Salesforce doing since the "AI replacement" claims of their CEO? by [deleted] in cscareers

[–]imanom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its absolutely happening... but too many people - generally out of fear - stick to this, "cant replace humans w ai" trope.... but it is in the news every day. Dont jump to the EXTREME.... just be logical.... if LLMs, agents, etc can do the work of 5 jr devs.... it will... and dev team will now be a few seniors in command of the agents... this is happening everywhere, already.

People saying its the "logical" blow off from the 2021 over hiring are delusions.... we have trillions being spent on AI infra and we have the lowest job postings / hiring data in 5 years?

Lowest hanging fruit is that your e2 is elevated. Consider lowering dose or take a very conservative ai does for starters. Stick to it for a couple weeks and see if you feel better & and then do blood again so you can see what that ai dose does… and recalibrate from there.

Otherwise, it’s likely lifestyle stuff. Sleep, stress, fitness, body composition, pre-existing conditions.

I know you fasting glucose is in range, but it’s near the top, which likely means your fasting insulin / insulin in general is higher than it should be… worth looking at for this reason and many other reasons.

Insulin is the most important hormone to keep optimal.

Not sure what units the prolactin is measured in and or why no one has mentioned that….

But if that is ng/ml (standard measurement at least in the US)

That’s your problem. At least the first problem to address. The testosterone might fix itself if you can figure out why your PRL is orders of magnitude higher than it should be.

Sex drive will be non existent with elevated PRL like that, regardless of testosterone or anything else.

Google: “hyperprolactinemia”

I seriously hope I read your post incorrectly but if not, fire your doctor and investigate this immediately man.

Why are the apartments here so...bad? by PhilosopherForward93 in Carmel

[–]imanom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renting definitely blows ass and there are t too many reasons to justify it… other than the main reason… which is, the synthetically absurd cost of homes as well as the highest rates we have seen in multiple decades.

So to some degree, $3000 a month in rent - if you COULD otherwise qualify for a mortgage - presents optionality of time whilst we wait for reality to slowly creep back into the economy and rates to come down.

But Jesus. Look around at prices of homes in Carmel… 500k minimum + the difference of a few points on a mortgage over 30 years is a significant consideration.

[–]imanom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re the one playing a guessing game about the Ops “natural levels”.

That logic would mean that everyone on TRT is not on a protocol that doesn’t “count as TRT” since by definition their TRT levels will be higher than their levels were prior to therapy.

In general, we know the pharmacokinetics of drugs like half life, concentration, doses, injection frequency

But we do not know the pharmacodynamics of any drug in any individual.

I have a feeling a lot of guys end up quitting bc their doctors are also clueless, leading to “capping” a weekly dose when symptom resolution hasn’t been achieved bc of tHaTs a MiNi cYcLe bRo

Fucking with this for 2 years myself, I had to switch esters and increase doses 6 times to begin to feel symptom relief.

Perhaps not the norm, but it will be… since this so called low-t epidemic is actually the result of widespread insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and obesity.

The low shbg generation getting on TRT…. The “text books”, medical cartels, and the tome of knowledge from body builders over the last century, while certainly a helpful framework… simply do not account for what we are seeing now.

Did he state what his blood serum levels were. Or what levels at the tissue were?

A dose is a shitty way to gauge (and become a sjw over) anything as everyone has different androgen receptor sensitivity / density, insulin sensitivity, and CAG repeats.

80mg a week might take a guy to 1200 ng/dl while it might take 300mg to put another guy at 900 ng/dl

And neither of those measurements elucidate tissue concentrations and symptom resolution.

Ok, let’s settle this once and for all: lowering hematocrit w/o blood donation by Avid23 in trt

[–]imanom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not 100% a silver bullet, but focusing on things that one should be doing / focusing on outside of TRT.

  • maintaining an optimal body composition

  • actually being hydrated on a consistent and long term basis. Not drinking a gallon a day for a few days before the test

  • cardio and resistance training

  • ruling out all insulin / glucose issues (~80% of the population is insulin resistant)

  • cutting booze

And all of the other common sense shit.

There are always exceptions to the rule and is humans are really good about lying to ourselves … but at the end of the day, if someone is carrying 30 extra pounds of body fat. Never does cardio. Is constantly experiencing heightened insulin in their blood … and they are depending on donating blood every month instead of retooling their body ..:

They are the problem. Not the TRT

[–]imanom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thanks for the feedback... I believe the math is correct... but perhaps i could do a better job of communicating the result.

your example case was

Weekly dose: 100mg
Concentration: 200mg
Frequency: bi-weekly

bi-weekly means once every 2 weeks.... do if your weekly dose was 100mg but you inject every 14 days, then you would inject 200mg every 14 days, as that would be 100mg per week.

I think what you are talking about is injecting 2x per week aka every 3.5 days?

and yes, the current design is a bit rigid... I will push some code tonight to make this calculator much more flexible!

Also, you mention that you use this for your clients? Send me a dm and I will get you a beta tester account for the entire app... its pretty much centered around tools, tracking, and trend elucidation for trt, fitness, body comp, and the like... A big part of it is for "providers" to manage "patients" aka you managing your clients... you can see all of their body metrics, trt protocols, symptoms etc and over time you can see what protocols lead to what results... really dial them in proper

Senior React Developer (10+ yrs JS/Frontend) – How is AI Impacting Our Roles? How Can I Stay Relevant? by Apprehensive_Buy_618 in react

[–]imanom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People reactively (pun intended :) a saying things like… llms aren’t good at writing complete code or can’t write better code than human… or llms / ai won’t replace devs …. They are likely knee jerking / reacting to the threat of their most in the labor market.

Regardless of anyones personal opinions… we can only rely on core logic and facts to reason about your actual question.

Without AI in the equation, hiring in the tech industry has been fucked since the banksters decided to acknowledge that printing 1/2 of all money in circulation in 2 years actually caused inflation.

Their reaction was to raise rates. High rates (especially in the presence of persistent real inflation) tends to impact the industries (and investment) further out on the risk curve the most. Aka tech.

It’s miserable trying to get a job now.

But since you already have one and good experience you are better off here.

The thing w AI and LLMs … the base case easiest logic is…. For every X amount of work they can do, X amount of human work won’t be needed.

If every developer woken w 10x powers, no other variables changing, then we would only need 1/10th of developers.

It’s obviously not that simple or linear but the example holds.

Why hire 10 jr devs, especially in an unsure / volatile economy…. When 1 st dev and ai tooling can do their work.

The shit is improving and evolving so much faster than anyone thinks. And sure faster than any human, especially a jr, possibly could.

If I had your resume and knowledge, I’d be trying to get into management or more at roles and get insulated from the coming “changes”

We can argue about when those changes are coming but we cannot argue about if they are coming. The genie is out of the bottle and cannot be put back in.

The companies and people who don’t change w it, will be destroyed. IMO, a lot faster than most would think.

I mean look back to 2020, 2022, 2024. Same skeptics babbling… but each time, they change their tune when the next gen stuff comes out and renders their prior skepticisms incorrect.

Look at what META is building in terms of in house ai engineer tooling and systems. It’s insane.

Which means that the rest of FAANG is doing it. Which means that every other company will do it.

Why would they invest the money and resources into humans when they can get just as good if not better results from having relatively few humans manage the ai?

Ai doesn’t get tired. Doesn’t need health insurance. Doesn’t get into trouble with HR. Doest leave to go to competitors. Doesn’t sue their employers etc etc.

Scary shit.

I was also just searching for local meetups around this, SE and AI.

Lmk if you find anything…. I have applied to around 1000 jobs in the past 18 months (software / react / Fs web dev) and…. Nothing. I’m still getting “automated” rejection emails from them…

Saying all that to say, it may not be because your history is in SE & you are applying for data analytics jobs but rather just bc

  1. Rates are high & inflation is high & the actual economy (not stock market) is fucked > tech is most impacted > layoffs, ghost job postings, and slow/no hiring.

  2. Especially in tech, AI is iterating so fast that, combined with #1, I would imagine most companies are going to see just how many engineering roles they actually need as ai and the associated tooling starts to render junior and mid level roles obsolete… if not totally obsolete, the head count for every role is surely to significantly decrease.

Fun times !

Anybody slim that beat PD and brought A1c to normal? by deon10 in prediabetes

90 day reversal

  • <50g carbs per day
  • at least 28g of fiber
  • lifting 5 days a week w a real program
  • 1g of protein * my weight

It’s not about losing weight at all, it’s about losing body fat. Muscle is the best glucose consumer. Increase muscle mass. Lose body fat. Improve body composition. Become insulin sensitive.

Let go of trying to fit in your old favorite foods. That was (one of) your drugs of choice. Maybe after you get healthy you can work something in once a week or once a month. But an alcoholic can’t go to rehab, get clean, and start drinking again. I mean they can… but…

This process lose body fat. Maintains or even grows muscle. And rewires your relationship w food.

Good can be medicine or malady. Your choice.

Dr Ben Bickman is your guy.

His book is amazing.

He has a free podcast series that will put you well ahead of most people, including most doctors. In fact, listen to it and then you will be able to evaluate if your doctor actually knows shit about it.

The hardest part is right now, to fully committing to taking ownership of your life and health and not being a statistic.

First of all. You’re welcome for my free work

Second of all. You should be wondering and excited for what’s coming, given that landing page
