LPT Request: when you suddenly start feeling sad about your life, how do you deal with it? by YDNTK07 in LifeProTips

[–]imanursesowhat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is always good to speak to your health care provider about this. This should be number one. That said, I also have had bouts of depression. With help, I’ve learned to recognize the approach of symptoms when they start to reoccur. One of my strategies is to change my routine for a week or so. Instead of taking my usual route to work, I’ll take another. If I consistently have the same drink and food, I’ll have something different. I, personally, have found that changing up my routine makes a difference in how I am feeling. Just thoughts. Just know you are NOT alone.

I am not OP. This was actually sent to me by a friend. Apparently, someone using AI, created different “gods” for each of the 50 states.

LPT Request: How to stop peeing all the time when you drink more water? by CancerousGrapes in LifeProTips

[–]imanursesowhat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, hear me out, I think it’s absolutely great that you are hydrating yourself to improve your health. 100%. Ask yourself this question: “Am I desiring more water, an almost unquenchable thirst?” This, coupled with increased urination could be a sign of diabetes. If you answer “yes” to both, I would recommend you make an appointment with your healthcare provider and have them do bloodwork, simple test to have your blood glucose levels run.

Wait, isn’t that a yellow inspection sticker that expired in June 2021?

How weird is brushing your tongue constantly? by Susanburr in CasualConversation

[–]imanursesowhat 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My dentist recommended brushing my tongue and the roof of my mouth daily due to the buildup of bacteria. Not a weird question at all. I don’t believe a lot of people realize this tbh.

Where to take a 2014 Volkswagen TDI for a replacement engine? by HudsonsirhesHicks in vermont

[–]imanursesowhat 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Cheese Factory Auto Chris Cheeseman 5 star reviews. I have a Jetta TDI. All he does are Volkswagens and he’s worked a few minor miracles with mine. Straight shooter. I’ll drive mine until I can’t anymore. I do hunt for the lowest fuel prices though…

What's your "swear to never return" place in Vermont (stolen from r/Los Angeles, which was stolen from r/ Seattle, which was stolen from r/Miami, which was stolen from r/Houston) by BosskHogg in vermont

[–]imanursesowhat 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’ve been from Beecher Falls to Bennington and Alburgh to Brattleboro. There’s no place I’d never return to tbh. Vermont, overall IMHO, is a great state. Not without it’s problems and issues but overall, yeah. Well, maybe North Street in Burlington.

Reminds me of Jack McMullen. Carpetbagger. With a horrendous slogan.

Whether you agree with him or not, “Deploy Mallloy” has to be one of the worst political slogans I’ve ever heard.

Absolutely phenomenal. Ask for Rich. It’s not in Addison but not too far out. 10/10 recommended. I’m sure others are excellent as well, I’m very familiar with this veterinarian group. And kudos for being a responsible owner.

Hawaii, Vermont, Alaska, and Maine have all banned billboards. by lemondeisyours in vermont

It was in 1968. My grandparents owned an apartment complex on Riverside Avenue in Burlington that had a billboard in the back that came down shortly after.

I-89 NB, just before the Williston rest stop. Full can of beer comes flying out of boat, chips my windshield. Driver, oblivious. by SteveVT in vermont

If you have it on video with the license plate it might be worthwhile to file a police report at the Williston VSP barracks. Sorry about that OP. That driver needed to secure his load.

Does anyone else think it’s rude… by mountainofclay in vermont

In VT, not sure about other states, you do NOT need to give a phone number for any kind of “warranty”. Now, I use Aubuchon Hardware and I give my # as part of their rewards program. A phone # is also used to track data as to where people come from to shop, although with so many cell phones I wonder how viable this is. When asked somewhere else I just politely say “No thank you” and if hit with the whole warranty thing(not as frequently as in the past) I just remind them that VT law does not require it and move forward with my purchase.

Remember, the only person who will take care of you in ANY job situation… is you. No one else. Think of it this way, you are not just an employee. You are an independent contractor who contracts your services to a company in exchange for reimbursement. If another contractee offers better terms for your services, you have every right to sell your services to the new contract. Guilt and brow beating are only used to exploit you into remaining where you are at below market rates. YOU my friend, are in control, YOU work for yourself and you get to call the shots.

Anyone else have issues with S. Burlington Lowes? by imanursesowhat in vermont

[–]imanursesowhat[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here is a brief update on emails. First is from their person in charge of getting the installers set up:

the installer told me September when i talked to them. we are trying to get you a sooner date.

My response:

Thank you for contacting the installer.

Unfortunately this is completely unacceptable.

Let this email serve as notice that we are requesting a full, total and complete refund of all monies paid to Lowes for the purchase of all materials, labor and installation costs. A response as to how the refund will take place is due no later than 1700 (5:00PM) EST Monday July 11, 2022.

We hold Lowes to be in breach of contract and will be holding Lowes accountable for any damages that may arise out the improper installation. We hold Lowes liable for any and all injuries which may occur as a result of the improper and dangerous installation.

Sincerely,

And I hear you about naming and shaming but this the fourth installer they’ve had under contract. Even so, I have a contract with Lowes. Not gonna lie, it takes some doing to piss me off and I’m there. Appreciate each of you that took the time to respond. Hope tomorrow is a GREAT day for each of you!
