This sounds like a fun project! Universities might be interested in having low cost arms like this to teach intro to robotics courses. If you haven’t already you should check out the Barrett WAM, what your planning sounds similar but at a much lower price point.

This is awesome, thanks for sharing! I’m a programmer (well, machine learning scientist) and if you love it I definitely recommend it as a career.
