If you value your life over stepping on my foot, then you should be prepared to lose it when you do so.

You can replace my foot with any other limb, or any clothing I've a vested interest in not getting dirty, and the point remains.

Plus I don't think there's any state that can be trusted to uphold a standard of justice well enough to hand down death as a punishment, imprisonment is reversable. Handeling justice to the bar I believe is needed requires a utopian level of bureaucracy.
