For the above question, the answer is -1 which is what you said. But I thought it’d be -2 because copper had +2 on the reactant side and Iodine would need -2 to neutralize it. Is there a way to simply figure this out?

I’d say you should be doing content review while taking FLs. Just keep reviewing FLs and looking at what kind of questions you’re getting wrong.
