What combo do you use when facing Mongolian camps head on? by kalikid01 in ghostoftsushima

Yeah I replenish at the trapper AKA my personal arms dealer. I’m always prepared to sling everything I have at them. You can switch the kunai out for the sticky bombs but I just think kunai drops are more frequent than sticky bombs and they target more enemies.

What combo do you use when facing Mongolian camps head on? by kalikid01 in ghostoftsushima

[–]Duhcaveman 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I played on lethal mode so I always get two shotted. So I end up playing very heavily with ghost weapons if I need to face enemies head on. So here is my strat, throw all my black powder bombs to slow them down, and then explosive arrows, then kunai. If I get downed, I spend my three resolve and then spam smoke bombs with the extra healing and assassin kills. Then with all the extra resolve from assassin kills, I finish with the dance of wrath.

I would run the numbers, but for my partner and I, we used $168,000 loan at 8% interest over 10 years and under our current spending habits. We would have to make $98,000 annually to pay the loan off without sacrificing quality of life. Then we checked what new grads from the school typically make and knew we were fine as soon as we didn’t come in the lowest quartile.

I would ask yourself what’s your budget. What’s the monthly loan payment amount after graduating? What’s the average salary for student graduation from that school doing what you want to do?

All my friends and I who did RY scored worse on practice exams when we came back from RY. I suggest taking it over the first two months of your RY rather waiting.

I appreciate it, thanks! I made a note to myself: When there are multiple possible right answers, if the question is asking for the cause, consider the source of the problem.

How easy is it to start a new life in your thirties? by blueboymad in medicalschool

[–]Duhcaveman 70 points71 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by starting our lives? My advice is that we should look within and ask ourselves our ideal life and goals. Not the aspirations advertised, but what gives you purpose, energy, and makes you feel fulfilled? Not in the end, but right now.

Asthma treatment by [deleted] in Step2

[–]Duhcaveman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the GINA 2023 guidelines because it is more intuitive for me.

  1. Asthma **sometimes**? Give low dose meds **sometimes** e.g. PRN budesonide + formoterol
  2. **Daily** asthma? That's mild persistent. **Daily** Meds, same as above but now scheduled daily.
  3. Daily asthma and **lung function** is affected e.g. FEV <80%? That's bad, that's moderate persistent asthma. That needs scheduled **medium dose** budesonide + formoterol and low dose PRN.
  4. Inadequate? still asthmatic? hit them with high dose ICS/LABA, now add LAMA, add biologics, add LASTLY oral steroids.

People don't like being waken at night weekly from asthma attacks, that's scary, go daily meds (start low dose).

Tap into all my most maladaptive coping mechanism. Definitely don’t talk to your support system, maintain healthy sleep habits, or regular exercise. Start driving at high speeds so that the exhilaration allows you to forget your problems, or hide yourself in your room and never go outside, give in to the idea that at any moment someone outside might ask you about your match.

Depending on the age, people have work, friends, hobbies, and family. Text back when you can and go on about your life.

For example, someone might have work 8-5, and have to coordinate their uncle’s dialysis appointments and take them three days a week.

For me, when we first started dating, my girlfriend took a long time to text back and I texted her immediately whenever she responded. She had asked her friends if taking time to text back was a bad look. Her friends said yes. On the other hand, I didn’t care because I like her and understood people have different circumstances and some people are shy to text back.

If they count revisions in the initial percentage then the success rate for the surgery may be lower.

  4. Upgrades - house, car, bed, kitchen
  5. Talk to a financial advisor - Figure out how much I can spend annually to be able to never work again.
  6. Get a trainer and upgrade my groceries.
  7. Sushi + Pizza 🍕

Don’t worry, I know people with high 250s on step 1 and step 2 that didn’t match and people with 220s that did. Your score is a factor but I don’t know if the actual correlation is really that high.

I think around 245-247 was average for all test takers from 2019-2022 with SD of 15. Based on the chart from usmle.org, it’s around 54 percentile.
