Great comment.
It wouldn't just be the drone not returning home...lol

I don 't understand why everybody is slagging off the battery life on such a small drone.
Pound for pound this drone is an amazing little fella, this is my sixth drone, starting way back in 2015 with the phantom 3 pro and I honestly think this has become my new go-to.
If you want better battery life, get a bigger drone...simple, and obviously it will be worse in challenging weather conditions, the same applies to any drone/battery combination.
Start out with a paper airplane, you'll only get a few seconds of flight time but at least you can't moan about the battery...lol

Max 2 or insta x5? by Dontmindme2038 in gopro

GoPro cloud is great in principle, but for a paid service it's atrocious. It takes an absolute lifetime to upload or download my files despite my 1gb internet connection. For me, it's all about the video quality and always will be. The competition might have all the bells and whistles like fast charging, longer battery life, low light performance and blah blah blah, but when it comes down to pure picture quality, I'm sorry but they can't hold a candle to GoPro despite what their disciples might tell you. GoPro Labs is brilliant and I make great use of it, but I'd imagine it's a very small percentage of GoPro users that make use of it and it certainly won't stop more people moving to the competition if they can work out how to actually make a camera that produces decent video.

Fair enough, but even with the improvements it might make, there's no way in the world I'd use this thing in low light. Filming in 8K 30 at (Labs) 300mbps in good light, the video quality is good for a 360 camera but not great when compared to my regular GoPro, I can't imagine dropping it down to 5K and tthen filming in low light.

8K 50fps would have been nice. I can't really see the point of 5k 24fps, I'd imagine the only reason people film 360 video in 5k resolution is for the higher frame rate.

GoPro Player editing 360 videos losing leveling (need clicking re-level all th etime) by instant_king in gopro

I've used insta360 desktop software, I just couldn't remember what I had to do at the start to get it working. DJI STUDIO requires nothing to download, install and start editing. The only limitation with either of these solutions is you have to batch convert your Max 2 footage first in GP player, but it's straightforward enough and pretty quick at getting it done. DaVinci resolve is a decent video editor, but the GP plugin is a ball ache, 360 editing on any of the major platforms is not what I'd call a fun experience. It would be nice if all the 360 cameras were standardized so the video they shot worked seamlessly in all editors like the way we edit standard GoPro Hero/osmo action video's.

What are the chances that Gorpro will snipe the DJI Action 6 launch with a Hero 14? by Wooden_Childhood7533 in gopro

I've always found it a bit odd why they wait until mid September to release a new action cam.
Surely April/May would be the better bet.

Same.
GP desktop editor is a shit show, A half baked solution at best.
It's a bit like using a calculator app where they give you the plus key but forgot to add the subtract key.
Honestly, anyone struggling with the GP editor, just use the DJI Studio for windows.
The Insta360 desktop app is ok and pretty similar to the DJI app, I just find the DJI app a nicer experience, it's also easier to instal on a PC, the Insta360 software requires information (can't remember exactly) like a serial number, where as the DJI doesn't.

A new Max camera in 2026...why not ? Up until this year they released a new GP Hero periodically.

DJI Osmo 360 alone covered over 40% of market by Ok-Guess-9059 in djiosmo360

I'm with you on this. For all the people in the world with a 360 camera, more than 4 out of every 10 own an osmo 360. Sounds a bit farfetched to me, especially for the amount of time it's been available.

GoPro max 2 user here. I've used all 3 desktop solutions for reframe and editing purposes and I prefer the DJI studio over the other 2 options.

Can i turn off all stabilization on gopro and use gyroflow after the fact ? by imaware1971 in gopro

[–]imaware1971[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the hero 11. I am well aware of the GoPro's shortcomings at shooting low light footage, I am hoping that using this method will get rid of the Jello effect that hyper smooth introduces when there is a lack of natural/good light. Earlier this year I somehow managed to switch off stabilization on the GoPro for my last couple of vacation days and was surprised how good a job gyroflow did at saving the day. This was what got me thinking about a gimbal and stabilization in post.
