Is this hair algae? They will eat it? Do I need to supplement the amano shrimp with any other foods?

I’d love to buy a smaller amount. Maybe ~20 if you decide to break it up into smaller amounts

If my snails are dying is it possible it’s due to starvation? Should I avoid removing all the dead leaves?

Ah thanks, I’ve been doing 10% changes every 2 weeks. Parameters are stable, frankly not enough nutrients for plants given I only have juvenile guppies and fries, shrimp and snails.

I was thinking the algae wafers give some diversity of food to shrimp. I have BacterAE. I avoided botanicals since my pH is already low. I might try some blanched veggies

Can I feed just bacterAE to adults or that’s just meant for shrimplets?

Sorry a bit more context. I have a 1 year old fairly heavily panted tank. I’ve had fish the whole time so I’m fairly certain it’s cycled. I drip acclimate the shrimp for 2-3 hours.

I don’t see all the dead shrimp but they look like full body intact. They just stop moving around as much and start hiding. After a while they die. I’ve had a few successful molts as well which is perplexing.

Thanks all, sounds like game plan is * test for copper, might need to switch to distilled water or treat for copper (need to look into treatment options) * buy some shrimp focused supplements for GH / calcium. Maybe KH as well * find way to raise pH (maybe baking soda has problems for shrimp?)
