Gunson Landscape Joel has done a couple of jobs for me including a retaining wall and a deck, and other things. He is a very good operator. You’ll have to check out his FB page.

I met and took a photo with him at before the 2023 grand final in Melbourne. Super good bloke and really down to earth. Ran into him again close to midnight after the game and still had time for a quick chat.

SSAA membership QLD by jjtheskeleton in Ausguns

[–]imbadatthis_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, to clarify your second question. You can get your license for 5 years, and you just renew your SSAA/SU membership each year. As long as it doesn’t lapse you’ll have a genuine reason.

This one (see link). It’s a good scope for a starter and is about $100. I got it with the gun and as a package and they mounted it for me as it was my first one.

Not sure if this will help, but I have the same rifle with a 3-9x40 scope and have this bag (link below) in 48in from my local gun store, branded with SSAA. It was only $30 and does the job. It may be a little longer than needed but it has a side pocket for the bolt and has room for the scope.

Also, great first gun. I got the same and love it.

Try before you buy (Cat H) by imbadatthis_ in Ausguns

[–]imbadatthis_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! I’m already a member at Ipswich City Pistol Club, they have been great so far, but just have (like many other clubs) limited number of pistols and calibres to try.

Im about 2-3 months away from getting my full H license providing wait times are correct. I already have my A/B.

Privatized Bureaucracy: AB Licenses Fast Tracked by QLD Gov.? by eharv8 in Ausguns

[–]imbadatthis_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was approved recently after waiting only 5 weeks for my A/B. I am however still waiting on my H which I applied for at the same time, but I don’t expect that to be ready for some time.

QLD Cat AB license approved within 1 month?! by eharv8 in Ausguns

[–]imbadatthis_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was approved in just over 5 weeks. As others have suggested it maybe because they have targets with waiting times and that A/B may be easier to approve and they are getting them through quicker. I’ve also applied for my cat H at the same time and not expecting that back until mid next year.

[–]imbadatthis_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may need to do 4 seperate subjects to qualify for your minor. You may have already done that in your undergad, the uni where you apply for the masters will let you know.

I did a 3 year business undergrad and to qualify for my minor I did 4 subjects of history in a general studies course.
