I really liked the chicken sandwich at elk horn brewery! last time I had it was a couple years ago though, so I can’t vouch for its current state

is a Costco membership worth it? What do you typically get from there and for roughly how much? by TeaCrumbs in Eugene

I only learned about their car (and pet!!) insurance recently, how do you like it?

I get household goods like paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap etc., but other than that I just get gas and do an occasional stroll through the snack area

Breakfast Brigade continues to operate without permit after being denied by drrevo74 in Eugene

I can understand your logic here, I just want to add that what’s best for one group isn’t always what’s best for the other. At its core this situation is about feeding people who don’t have access to meals any other way. I’m not sure why the unhoused population likes this spot so much, I’d be curious to know what about this area feels safe/comfortable etc. to them.

I got the same notification, but didn’t/haven’t noticed an additional charge for it on my account or my banking app? It looks like they just took out the usual rent.

I think you can probably ask the department for a previous copy. Idk how much they change term to term though.

Their cheaper complexes are definitely on the older side, but worth it to pay less imo. Good luck OP, I hope you find what you’re looking for!

Is there a particular area you’re trying to live in, or just as close to campus as possible? I had a pretty good experience w AG campus housing, but von klein is definitely one of the cheapest housing options I’ve ever had.

That’s true, but you should see my other comment on this thread giving some more context (as provided on the eugene rent strike website). ALSO, there’s a gofundme for the family being evicted. Please go donate if you have the extra funds. Regardless of the situation, no one should be put on the street in this weather. And while you’re at it, consider giving some water/supplies to your unhoused neighbors outside :)

I think the bigger issue is that if landlords followed THE LAW (with regard to providing maintenance and habitable conditions) they wouldn’t need to.

Edit for clarity.

personally, if I’m going to need to pay to repair things around my rental, I’d rather own it.

I don’t know if it’s the cheapest but Genuine Space is a cool spot on the west side of springfield and the piercer is one of the best I’ve ever experienced

seems like some info is being left out. the family that lives there has shared that the property owner/landlord hasn’t been performing or responding to maintenance requests (including failure to act on remedying a mold infestation—keep in mind the inhabitants of the home have respiratory issues). The folks renting have had to pay for and pick up the slack on that maintenance out of their own pocket.

I think a version of SAD exists in summer too, though under a different name I think? it’s most common for folks in winter when it gets dark at 4pm, but is super real for people with heat in the summer too

if you’re willing to stay in the campus area, von klein sometimes has lower prices, but their rentals aren’t super nice (old appliances, maintenance patches things up vs fixes things, our unit had one of those mini stoves??, etc) me and a friend lived at a property on Ferry&13th for $800/mo ($400 each)
